Best of luck with arranging that.

Contrary to the people above I do not see any electrical reason.
And I am really curious what was standing outside that got so hot it burst in flames and then leaked liquid fuel into the stones igniting also the inside.
Or for the matter what was standing on the inside on the ground at the groundanchor(badly translated)
This is some weird ass fire from what i can see from the pictures.

It has not burned for very long on the outside though otherwise your gutter would be have been melted/scored.

I suppose there was a non combustible cover on that wall(drywall?) before the fire department arrived.

Shit.... Having been way too close from accidental fires, gas, diesel, electrical AND motorcycle before your luck was pretty good this time. Looks like limited damages ???

Insurances??? Lets hope they are better than mine.Outrageous yearly fees and high deductible to avoid even higher fees. I'll put insurance companies in the same dirty swill bucket with the banks these days.

Good Luck with all of that!

Gee Andi, what is about you and fires. First you use a perfectly good Ducati to set fire to acres of land, and now almost your house.

I'm glad to see it wasn't worse, and I know a pretty good QS if you need one for insurance.

I hope damage is minimal. Looks like electrical by the melted panel.
Is that in your garage?
Yeap that is STILL our garage luckily, a little unnerving to get that "guess what your house caught fire" email.

best of luck guys
Yeah won't stop the trip but it will dent our budget $400 bucks for the excess, no too bad to still have a home.

Gezz Toddy listening yo that we feel bloody grateful, at least 99% of our house is ok apart from some some smell/damage in the house apparently.

Yeap might be worth doing or protecting the gas line with fireproof insulation, with the speed of the fire service ...... great thing about Wanaka everything is only 3 minutes away

Pray you can work out everything long distance (especially because I have a waterpump kit here in central Peru that won't fit ANY of my 8 motos!).

Heya Toby, no worries mate w are coming to get the parts make no mistake, this is just another one of those "off shore" speed bumps.

We certainly didn't factor this into our trip

BTW ... 8 motos .... bastid

Thanks man, yeap I tend to agree, the electrical board although tortured is not badly melted and power is still circulating, nothing else above the board is burnt either and fire ALWAYS goes up.

The timber studs and bottom plate beside the garage door are the worst burnt and that is to the RIGHT of the board so I suspect the seat of the fire was down there.

Also the outside cladding is burnt badly at that point and NOT we the electrical board is.

Insurance assessor is there tomorrow so I guess all will be revealed.

Don't you dare burn down our Canadian holiday house

Lucky escape for sure other than our pocket for the excess, our insurance bill has trebled in the last year.

Awesome, Methven (and area) is beautiful, our trip came from want and envy and we turned our dream into a dream come true, we are working class people mate, nothing special and no golden spoons or lotto wins, back to work when this is done.

So dream it big and make it happen it is easy (ouwh and the dreams don't cost much unless you activate them )
