1976 Yamaha RS 100 C

Story goes like this, back in November I saw an add for a 1976 Yamaha RS 100 C -- great original condition, 1900 miles, runs great, has paperwork/title..etc...etc. Price seemed fair and after talking to the guy (estate sales) decided to go ahead and buy it, it was gonna be my lady's Christmas gift- something to put around town on.

Money sent, started to making shipping arrangements when a few days later the seller leaves me a voicemail saying " I need to talk to you about the bike" I'm thinking he's gonna burn me, the bike doesn't really run, he's backing out of the sale or something really stupid is about to happen......

I call him back and he's being real vague with me, " I didn't tell you the whole story with the bike" "wasn't gonna tell you this" In my head I was starting to boil, then he say's " I have another one, a matching bike" Tells me the original owner bought them at the same time, same color- 1850 miles, all the paper work etc.. the seller wanted to keep it for himself but after talking to me durning the first sale ( we talked about my JT 2) decided that he would offer it to me..

Hook, line, sinker---SOLD!!! Paid about $200 more for the second one but I was cool with that...

Few weeks later this is what showed up.

They both run great, both need a little TCL and cleaning, but I/we are really happy with them. I will slowly start to go thru them this summer and replace a few things that are broken/worn out. All and all awesome little bikes and should be fun little around town machines..

Wow! Cool paint on these things. Look to be in great shape!

Not sure if you and the bikes are still in Cali, but if you are looking to recoop some of the cost you could sell those vintage CA plates. I know they go for some coin

Bikes are in California, so the plates will stay with them.

Bought it new in '78 (under $800 if I recall correctly), blew a piston running 60mph down the highway (wrong spark plug from factory), thrashed it slow and fast, never missed a beat other than the piston problem. First year monoshock rear - would kick back like crazy on sharp bumps. Eventually sold it for nearly what it cost new.
