Safari Tank Users
I had it brought to my attention by another 10G+ Club member that the stock gasket fails with the bad gas we are given in the states. I just changed my stock gasket from the adapter plate to the tank. Glad I did. Stock gasket was all but gone. Lots of pieces of it sitting in the bottom of the tank.

Bumping this because if that gasket fails it could dump a lot of fuel and is a bit of a safety hazard.

Good heads up.
How old is the tank? how long was the gasket in? and what did you replace it with?

Mine dumped about 3 gallons in my garage before I caught it. The gasket they provided lasted 8 days.

Just got mine...!
Holy shit, I just got and installed mine and I'm loving it but that is a real concern. What did you do...? Make one from just Universal gasket material? That gasket in a tube like flan in a tube or what? ???

Patrick, I was given some gasket material that is supposed to be ethanol proof. I just cut it to fit and installed it. (On a side not My KTM Is up and running. I just have to get the Rekluse dialed in now and pay off CJ.

Good to hear. I just noticed how degraded mine was and wanted to give others a heads up.

FYI, I know this part is not list on CJ's site but he has made billet adapters with a proper machined grove
for an o ring that fits the safari tanks. I have one with an adapter for an extra fuel line so I can easily transfer fuel to my camp stove, or any other container. I'll post pics next time I have my tanks off.

The gasket that came with my Safari tanks still looks brand-spanking new: that's because it is. My fuel pump goes where your block-off plate does
