It was my impression from the OP that they were going to a BRC 2 course and had concerns about hard braking and obstacle avoidance. Since they had put these two together would you not say that the advice in the BRC Rider's Guide (bottom of p.38 and top of p.39) would be more appropriate?

Not being familiar with that course is the following video an acurate coverage of the exercises undertaken?

I think you're reading too much into it.

Got me- I'm in the original rebel state, so I don't teach MSF stuff.
