Then process the images using Photomatix pro to get a result I thought looked ok, then tweaked the final image in Photoshop.
I did not go over the top with the processing into HDR, as i prefer to have a more natural looking image, as opposed to something that is obviously processed a lot.
This is, of course a personal taste, as everyone likes something different.
That's the best and worst thing about photography, what I think looks great, looks like rubbish to someone else...!
Hi!

Thanks for explaining in detail.

I've never tried 5 exposure, only 3. Amazing that you didn't use a tripod with yours. I guess when it's pretty light out it's a little easier with faster shutter times but still impressive holding still between shots, and 5 of them!

Lucky for me, I love it both ways, some with the over-processed painting or cartoon look, and some with natural appearance.

Great job with the natural look. I love how the HDR exposure bracketing captures so much detail and different lighting, and with your f8 you get lots of depth as well.

Thanks again!

LS

Hi all,
Yes, I do like some of the cartoon type images, but it only works on certain types of images for me.
Hand holding is no problem as the Photomatix software, like other HDR software aligns the 5 images when processing, so no need for a tripod.

Read back through some of the previous posts, there's heaps of good info and advice.

Jay, that is an excellent shot mate.

I also use 5 exposures. Just none of the bike as yet. You can drop an exposure if needs be.

I took a few shots this morning. It was overcast, so the lighting wasn't all that good. Processed in HDR Efex Pro. Photomatix didn't yield good results this time.

Which one would you take for a spin? Too bad I left the helmet hanging there. At least I remembered to take the damn ugly top box off.

That peak would be Grand Teton.
Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

It is the left most (behind) peak in this photo I took there last year

Thumb

Thank you Geek, and your explanatory photo is a keeper too.

Last time I was in that particular neck of the woods was in '56 Ford wagon, and at the time it was a late model

That would have been the day after the earthquake in Yellowstone.

Teton National Park near Jackson is correct, but I believe it is Teewinot mountain, not the Grand teton.

Tweewinnot is the lower peak in the foreground, Mt Owen is the one to the right, Grand Teton is the taller peak behind.
