Ambassador Bill ..... making a difference!

Short Update from Delhi

So this afternoon we have sorted out gear and gotten ready for 6am departure in the am. I was resting and Bill took a walk around the neighborhood, and was interacting and played a bit of Cricket with the neighborhood kids........

Later they come knocking on the door to find the guy that played cricket with them Sort of like can MoBill come out and play.

They thought it was cool and wanted his email and Facebook info! This is so cool! Bill the ADV Ambassador connect s with the Locals! So awesome to be traveling with a guy like this

Bill scored 6 runs right off the bat

Bill and the Kids!! Security guard was not so sure......

Kids thought Bill was really cool

Thanks Mark, you're too kind....here's earlier in the day seen from the balcony first, and then...the cricket match. They wanted to watch me catch and hit..and what games I play home--which if you know me is pretty funny. It's it's got a score and a field, I don't savvy it...

I actually hit a six point shot--and caught a buncha flys, so, I didn't embarass any of yous...but of course the game is a lotta "what now?!"

CJ heading out to get us gas cans..

.the hospitality the CJ clan has shown us...what can I say, you honor the ADV family, your own kin and us with the love you've shown us--making us part of your family is the greatest blessing of the trip.

First, who said Enfields aren't fast?

We saw these guys with these colored headpieces on and had to ask them...what's up with that? We thought the cops were hassling them, but they were just talking (yesterday)...they're on a pilgrimmage to a Hindu Temple/Palace, they were so warm, they were almost manic about it...

And...epic ride...

Oh and one other thing...we aren't riding from the Delhi Ridge to the Himalayas...but every story should start with a joke or an outlandish joke :)

CJ caught me...I forgot to let you all in on it.

We are!! Although, Mark and I talked about competing ride reports...HE IS the superior photographer.

He knows stuff.

Hope you all at home are well...we are having an adventure complete with broken motorcycles, diarrhea, smiles, .laughs, great views...a few things to ponder and missing loved ones.

We’re into our 5th day since we left CJ’s house in Delhi. Today was a day off to just rest and take care of some business with permits to visit Kardahn-La (highest motorable road in the world)…so many, many impressions.

I’ll say this first—just about everything I observed here is positive—and if it’s negative in context, it’s not an India problem, it’s a human problem—everywhere or just about. I can only say positive things about the country and its people. I’ve been thinking about it this way: I’ve been sustained here by loving wonderful people…if you can do it, come here.

I’ve seen a lot of things done differently than at home, of course—like trash removal this morning was very interesting…but it was done.

The human landscape will always be where my heart is.

So first in that regard, CJ's beautful daughter wearing flowers my daughters made for her hair:

Travelers from Mumbai at a roadside temple...with one of the best ambassadors I know:

From our hotel room in Keylong...I LOVE how these gents are working the shovel, a rope by a second man pulls the shovel's contents into pile number two...soon? Pile GONE!

Amo, one of our hosts in Pang....all smiles and very reflective...

More in moment...
