Colonial towns to explore in Mexico?
Saludes,
My wife and I have fallen in love with the colonial towns in Mexico. So far, we've spent time in Oaxaca, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato and Zacatecas. (Oaxaca is my favorite; my wife's is Zacatecas) Eventually, we'd like to find a town where we could rent a small house for 6 months or so. I've put together a short list of towns to explore. Any additions, comments or suggestions, including places to stay? Tepic, Nayarit Colima, Colima San Luis Potosi Morelia, Michoacan, Patzcuaro, Michoacan Cuernavaca, Morelos San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas Muchas gracias! Lynn |

Morelia is a ggod choice. But don't overlook places like Puerto Vallarta and Merida, if you like towns quite a bit bigger than Alamos.

I highly recommend Morelia. I've spent the last 2 1/2 years here.
It is small enough that you still see familiar faces around town, and run into people you know, but large enough that people don't really care who you are or what you are doing here..... you can blend in easily. It's close enough to Patzcuaro for day trips, and close enough to the beach for weekend trips. There is also a large middle class here, lots of bikes around town. |

Do you know any good Spanish language teachers there? I don't mean a tourist teacher,,,,someone who in a native speaker who can teach someone who comes for an extended period of time.
