Was a good weekend, started off a bit wet on Saturday for practice but was nice and dry for the first race in the afternoon.
This morning was very wet from early wake in back of van at 6:00 to about 8:30 when it eased off and stopped.
First race was patchy wet and was not firing on a all cylinders.......
Race two was dry and had a battle with a 900 Harley..... matched it for speed on straights....120 mph according to rider.
I found riding a different track challenging as I did not get good at the lines..... oh well...
Last race of the day it started to spit but the track was still dry, had a nice battle with a Norton, passed him on a corner but he was having none of being passed by an old mans touring bike....... just about got him on the finish line but the rev limiter kicked in and then it was all over.....
My mate from Newlands rode up on his Triumph 800 GS thingie and had a good day of watching the classics.
I only took piccys of the BMW sidecar antics with the snapped ring gear, gear box removal, angle grinder and hammer.....

The long drag down

Saturday was 2 rounds of practice in the wet & 1 race on a drying track

You have heard of Spycam & Skycam & all those other cams

for those quiet moments

All dressed up with some place to go

If I sneek up a bit closerer maybe some of his excess speed will rub off

Brent & Graeme were a couple of likely lads who had gone shares in a little Trump. On Sat arvo they were a bit dejected as I wandered past as the bike had cut to 1 pot. I suggested they check the tappets to see if a push rod had come loose, Gee how do I know this ??

They finally got the prob sorted on Sunday , both got to have a ride, they were fizzing happy little campers

Volty waves to the adoring fans in the empty grandstand

Great pics, big to Becs Team Winston official photographer.
It was good to get the Triumph lads going again, you should do a " Guide to Racing Triumphs" for all wannabe Triumph racers...
1: if it runs on one cylinder with spark and fuel....don't blame the ignition or fuel system.
2: Boat rollers+ Toyota Starter Motor do not = running engine.

I was saving that little gem for something else

Worked OKish at home

At Manfield the bike would hit compression the rear wheel would stop & the rubber boat roller would keep spinning

Not my best work, back to the drawing board to drive both rollers & replace the rubber rollers with steel covered with sand impregnated POR15

Front page material.

Awesome photo essay. Every time I think I have too many things on already you have to put up pics like that. I really like Winston but it must be uncomfortable to ride with one hand up & one hand down

Wow, you guys use skinny tyres! You should should fit some wide wheels - it really made an improvement to my Morris Minor.
