Rhino Heading to the Atl

So heading to Atlanta for Turkey Week w/ Team Rhino.

The espousa has family there, so we've been before, but for me, not is awhile.

Staying in Atkins Park / Virginia Highlands area. What bars / restaurants are good in that area? Cool moto shops to visit? All types.

I'm also thinking of riding. Anyone know where I can rent a moto for a day or so? I loved riding in No. Ga. years back. Or maybe I can rent from an inmate? Most likely would want to ride on 11/25. This would really make my trip if I could ride. We're caging it to Ga.

And any other info that you think would be good.

Thanks

Edit: I'm no local, but I did stay there one night a month ago on my way to the Barber Vintage Festival.

I went to Ri-Ra, then over to South City Kitchen for dinner, then back to Ri-Ra to close the place.
South City Kitchen was outstanding.
Told Rocky I'd never been to the south before, she took real good care of me. After about the 4th delicious plate I just hat to tap out. Too much good stuff.
And at Ri-Ra, they make a mean French Connection.

Looks like they're both about 2 miles from Atkins Park.

closest rental place is WOW cycles in marietta. eagle rider but good selection of bikes for all tastes.

as for shops, maybe Atlanta BMW/Ducati in Marietta (near WOW) and may as well stop by Mountain Motorsports if you are in the area (all three are fairly close).

for food, lots of good food in ViHi area- one of my favorites is Surin thai restaurant. get the Surin baskets for apps. good stuff.

for a bit more off the wall, go to The Vortex in Little 5 points. Used to be bike night on Thursday nights, but haven't been in years so not sure what the scene is like these days.

One MidTown Kitchen is good food, not too far. Maybe try to get tickets to the botanical gardens light show (fun family/date kinda thing).

that should get you started.

Well Atlanta we had fun and it was great to see family. But some things I learned from being there;

Turn signals on your vehicle are standard, not options and they're ok to use.

Your traffic signals are not synchronized and take forever to change.

The Georgia Aquarium is way overpriced & just ok. The dolphin show is a joke. This is not Broadway, show me the tricks and educate me about them, save the song and dance.

Selling booze in supermarkets is awesome. As well as beer at the gas station.

Gas in South Carolina and Virginia are user friendly - Great prices

Gay men being concerned about fat gimpy white guy is very nice.

What the hell is this far left Lane with Peach Pass? And why are you charging 0.03 to drive on it?

Frontal breast exposure at 8am while getting coffee is very nice.

Your local micro brews are excellent.

Please annunciate the native language. Some of the unwashed are incomprehensible.

Don't drive during rush hour a 10 minute trip takes 45.

They're called cockroaches Not palmetto bugs. It's OK, they're in every part of the world, but denying what it is and giving it a cute name doesn't change what it is...

See ya'll next time...
