Hey Tommy, Guy - yeah I did take a look at it to add to the route, but might be a bit far to add to the day ride, ending up back at Romney. However I will put in a plug for people to try to get there either on the way to Romney, or on the way home...

Thanks Trevor.

My wife isn't getting home until Tuesday, so the first time I can head over there will be Weds. morning,,,,, AND, I will be heading over there. It's been too long and I need to see those folks and give them a big hug. They've been through too much.

GPS data from Google Earth and Garmin for Rella's. I visited with her for lunch during the last Spring Frolic.

Vote for rella!

For curiosity, I Googled "Rella's Diner WV" and just a few links down was this site:

http://www.menupix.com/westvirginia/...cker-Valley-WV

It has a place to click and vote for "Yuck" or "Yum" at the top. Very simple - no registering or anything, just vote and go. Let's give Rella some positive votes. Thanks!

Myself and another rider DID make it over there this past Weds. When we pulled up she was just sitting out on the porch "watching the rain." Told us that she has only had two (2) bikers in there this year thus far..... which is ridiculous!!

Jeaneace also had another medical issue but was out of the hospital. She was at the docs that morning and was due back a little later. Was hoping she'd show while we were there, but didn't. Sorry we missed her.

After stuffing ourselves with food and dessert, we said our goodbyes and headed off in a very heavy downpour. We promised to actively promote her place, and make a speedy return. All of US need to do that. Her place has become such an institution over the years and I would hate to see her close.

I also did do the "Yum" vote that Mike mentioned above.

Rella

Stopped for lunch today in the minivan with the missus. Rella and Jeaneace were glad to have the company. We were the only ones there at 1:00.

Beth had Kielbasa with sauerkraut and potatoes (did I spell that correctly, Mr Quayle?) and I had the usual burger and fries. Both were excellent. (and that's a high rating for Beth, being a German Wisconsin girl who grew up on Brats and Kielbasa!)

Guy, thanks for the Pierce's BBQ. I left 1 bottle there for Rella and took the other 3 home. Check's in the mail.

BTW - 13 folks have voted for Rella (see previous post) and all "Yums" EDIT: (June 18) Make that 31 with 100% "Yums" and 3 reviews. (You can also write a review very easily.)

OK, I've used up my monthly quota of emoticons. Time to go.

Excellent Mike.Thank you for your note... and yes, you did spell it correctly.

I must say, she was most interested in the sauce, so glad you extended the generosity and left her a bottle. We'll probably see it in one of her menu items.

Sorry we missed Jeaneace on Weds. I would have loved to see her again. She even called the house after our recent quake to make sure we were okay. You just don't find that kinda folk very often. Think I'll give them a call as soon as I get done typing this.

Thanks again Mike. Enjoy the sauce and look forward to seeing you soon.

EDIT: Did call and got Jeaneace. Am glad to report she sounded really good and "perky." Am really sorry we missed her on Weds., which is another reason I need to get back over there just to give them all a big hug.

If you've never been, you'll see exactly what I am talking about as soon as you walk in the front door. You'll immediately become that long lost relative and, guaranteed, you won't get out of there without sharing stories, places you've been, and where you're headed. I love those ladies, and they know more about me than some of my closest kin-folk.

Hell..... they ARE my kin-folk.

Best.............

.
Guy

I think the "look" says it all.

We're going to have to relieve him of his navigational duties next time.

I think a "Rella Burger," fries. and some pie (or cobbler) would fix that.

Hey, somebody screwed with my review of Rella's on the MenuPix website so that only the first sentence shows - VERY misleading by itself. Will try to remedy.

EDIT: FIXED (at least temporarily)

Mine was still intact, but see that you have corrected someone's misdeed.
