Hmmmm

Sounds like fun. I'd be seriously burning the candle at both ends but I'll try to make it. And I hear the moto-kiwis may be there, too?

I'll PM you with a definite go/no-go as soon as possible.

Geezer AKCharlie just called to personally invite me to join the Homeroids for the ride to Seward, so it looks like I'll be joining them, just for the day. I plan on leaving my house a little before 9:00 a.m. and meet up with the Homeroids at the Tern Lake junction around 11:00. If anybody wants to ride along, let me know.

I'm not sure if I want to ride with the Two Moto Kiwi Popsicles in case they generate another snowstorm and hail on the Kenai Peninsula!

I think you might want to clear some of that brush out of the Air Cleaner before we hit the road in the morning.

Well now he's gone and done it...

AKCharlie has seriously hurt my feelings by STILL publicly calling my bike "butt ugly." Therefore I'm going to skip the ride on Sunday.

Plus, I learned the Homer-oids are leaving Homer on Saturday, not Sunday, like Charlie told me. Either the Geezer is getting older and more easily confused, or he was just afraid to ride with my Lovely DR. For some reason he has the mis-perception that my bike jinxes other bikes.

Update for TomS and AlcanRider: the tug left Seward a few days ago and is still sailing fine with no problems!

Updated weather report for waypoint Soldotna, looking good tomorrow and sunday, might break 50 degrees.
Seward has a 40% chance of dry, and slightly LESS chance of snow. might make 50 degrees, between wind gusts.
So, it looks like a great day to get out of Homer.
Plan to leave baycrest fuels 0900.

Oh, I guess I'll have to have a talk with him. Maybe I can get him to soften up a bit with just calling the DR an "ugly butt" bike. Would that help?

Seward adventure was a success. Our New Zealander friends escorted us as far as Hope, where we stopped for fuel and lunch.
Roads on the peninsula are in perfect shape, no delays.
Dry weather, Temps near 50 Fahrenheits, a conspicuous LACK of snow.
We found real good pizza, plenty of beveraGE, cards, dice, billiards, friendly locals, reasonable accomodation(s)...
A FULL-POWER breakfast was prepared, including 18 scrambled eggs, 3 pounds of thick sliced bacon, hashbrowns, bagels, engrish muffin, genuine butter, a whole pineapple, half gallon of florida OJ, and even pretty decent coffee.
No prisoners taken, no mechanical failures, no casualties reported.
