Well that makes it at least 20 popo since leaving the Island and just passing Lakes Entrance. Only pulling over bikes. Be careful guys and gals. Some really sneaky positions.

Oddly, I saw very little police presence both going down and returning via Melbourne.
Left Friday morning from Stratford to Traralgon, down via Churchill, lunch in Mirboo North, Wonthaggi.
1 camera car, and 1 divvy van.

Left Cowes this morning at 8.30am, slow going over the Island, but even though the seperate Blue line was being proclaimed as not operating, bikes ignored it, and it kept bike traffic flowing to the bridge. Passed several police cars stuck in the vehicle lane, and nobody cared.
Only passed 2 camera cars, and 1 HP car, booking a car driver, on the way to Melbourne. Left there at lunch time, and came home via East Link, and the Princess hwy.
Again only passed 2 camera cars, and 1 HP hiding up a track, but with the amount of warning lights flashing from oncoming traffic, only a fool could get a ticket.

What a great weekend!

I stayed at Foster and commuted in with Big Willy and a couple of other Queenslanders. 3 great results from 2 good races and 1 procession. The weather was blessed, the jam donuts were good (4.5 stars from me) and it was impossible to get a decent coffee, strangely. The circuit cafe failed on every count, but the dunnies were in sufficient supply around the track.
Drove home yesterday and saw loads of cops, on bikes, in cars, hiding in the bush with cameras, they were everywhere on the way to Cann River. Heaps. Hopefully my efforts to avoid involuntary tax donations to the Vic Government have been successful.
I can recommend the Eskdale pub for a dinner, very nice.

Jingellic came and said hello to me at turn 12
I kept bumping into Matt everywhere and took pity on him in the end and gave him a lift back to Melbourne

You were GREEN with envy.

Typical sunny island weather - Friday morning.

A little later in the day - bloody freezing, snow was apparently forecast.

The crowd getting excited on Sunday.

Working hard..........

Supporting the locals at the rally in Melbourne.

A great weekend, good to catch up with a couple of inmates - tank slappa and dirt bloke - hope you had a good ride home guys.

Lots of stories from the weekend (6 days for me)

A few pics first I guess.....

Mwah with the love of my life. Have madly lusted after Mick since 1987.....

I stalked KTM Paul...sure he thought I was some mad person.

Made sure I promoted Motorbikin (any commission?)
My feral looked sad as he was 'Pining' for his girlfriend. Look it up in the dictionary boy - it is a real word
and I made him stand down the hill so I didn't look so short.

Some of the characters in the trackside campsite.

Some of what we were there to see

Got home this arvo, took a few detours, got to see some great country, all up 5419km
Photos and map next week (I'm on night shift)...
Good to catch up with Matt, missed KTMPaul. Was there anybody here in the Bass straight stand (out of southern loop on the run down to Casey's curve?). Top place to watch the race from....

The bike is a mess with all the bugs and dirt, it will take a while before it looks a wrecked bike again!

I haven't checked if the misses recorded the races yet.

Top week with Bootlace and his dodgy mates.

Pete

Good to hear you're home safe and sound Pete. Dodgy? Nah! Laurence got home this evening,(Thursday), after big rain ride, all good. Forgot to get you're email. I've got a VERY funny vid taken from the telecast during Moto3 Qualies on Sat. It involves my flaggie partner, (Margaret), and a rain flag...... I've no idea how to get it up here, but I'm sure someone will. Otherwise, send me your email, and I'll throw it at ya.
Cheers mate, top week!

Highlights

Hi All,

Sorry for late feed on this this thread. I had the fortune of sitting at Bass Straight Stand last weekend. After missing a Siberia ticket, I was assured this would be the next best place to sit. And it was. The 'moment' for me was in Saturday afternoon qualifying. Casey had been sliding it through the apex and out the exit of turn 3, really getting the crowd excited. However, those who saw it and happened to be at Turn 3 wittnessed something pretty special about halfway through qualifying:

Casey, upon exiting Turn 2 (Southern Loop) was getting excellent drive. Infact, a hell of a lot on one occassion. By the time my brain could process the 'hell, he's going a bit quicker this time...'. Then thinking 'boy he's going to have to slow down a bit...'. Then witnessing him GAS IT UP a good 10 - 20 metres before the turn to step it out....
He slid the bike in right from the word go. I'm pretty sure the crowd was in awe - possibly because we couldn't believe what we had just seen...

It might be a while before I see something like that again.

Other than that, I managed to get to meet The Man, and get his autograph :

.
Thanks all. Just wanted to share.

Cheers,

Dan.
