KTM 690 Rally and SM Montage

Ever wonder about the differences between a KTM 690 Rally Factory Replica and a production 690?

I did. So I borrowed my buddy's 690 Supermoto and did an eyeball comparison with my my 690 RFR.

Enjoy.

thanks for posting Don't think I'll ever get to see a 690 rally in the flesh so its cool to get an up close and personal comparison......much more to the Rally than meets the eye.....and there's already plenty that meets the eye

Thanks for sharing Bill.

FYI, the non-Rally 690 you are showing is a 690 SMC, which is basically a 690 Enduro with small wheels, street suspension and a big radial front brake. The 690 Supermoto does not share many parts except for the engine, and has a different main frame with a conventional front mounted tank and aluminum subframe.

Yes, thanks for sharing. I love threads like this where one can see things not readily available to the public!

Shock Mount

Contrary to what I earlier thought, I don't think the 690 RFR upper shock mount can be flipped to change rear ride height. I now believe it can go on one way and one way only as shown in the picture.

I would have liked to do the comparison with an Enduro R model, but I only had the SMC at my immediate disposal.

BTW, there is something mounted incorrectly in the SMC photos. Lets see if the experts can spot the error...
