A replica? For $12,500? Gotta be delusional.

I don't know.... if it's a "Replica of a Restored" German police bike might be worth it. If, however, it's a "Restored Replica" of a German police bike - forget it because as anyone knows - a replica that had to be restored seriously diminishes its value! Wording and clarity is important when buying/selling collectibles ya know!

Dang. Holy Grail or Cash Cow???

Wonder why the fairing fits crooked? Look at the gap with the front turn signal housings.

x2

Although, I'd happily pay $5 to see it in a museum setting somewhere alongside a bajillion other vintage bikes. Unfortunately, it seems more and more places like this are closing up their doors.

Did you take a good look at all of the pictures? It is original, but far from immaculate. It needs new front brake and clutch cables, you can see the plastic coating is cracked on both. The carb screws all have the real patina of age. The choke lever and housing are the same crustiness that I have on my 74 R75 that has over 90,000 miles on. I would say that if you are looking for an original this is not bad to go for, but the price is way too much.

The petcocks are a later model. 1975 should have straight down nipples.

The tool kit contains a /5 wrench. The second from right wrench fits the /5 or /2 header nut. Not sure about this but think this wrench was discoed after /5.

Would love to see the grommet on the right side front turn signal. in '75 it is a solid O shape. Later models, not sure of date, there is a split in the rubber O so it can be installed with turn signal on the stalk.

The front turn signal stalks are longer on an S bike. Can't imagine they would make the mistake of using short stalks but can't see well enough.

For that mater the petcock mistake is a blatant faux pax and the bike fails for this one alone in my book.

FAKE
