Some Sunsets... Many from Idaho

this threads been kinda dead for awhile... so I thought I'd post up some pic's from another thread about clouds... so here are some from Idaho, and some other places too...

Idaho has nice clouds... some caused by forest fires...

some look better when you get closer to them at over 10,000 feet

some look good when your above them...

and some look better in the evening...

some clouds hide behind mountains

some look better at dusk

and some take on the color of their surroundings...

Yes, got them all... see post #80... the fires that shut everything down started while we were out there finishing up during the post #80 ride, after that, you couldn't get to many of the sites due to road closures... I believe one other club member beside myself got them all this year... too bad, many were locked out of the mountains almost until the first snows started...

I remember back in June, Idaho Sam asked me why I was in such a hurry to get em' all done... (I had visited over half of them by early June)... it was because I had other things scheduled for August, September and October, so I had no choice but to get out there early... it turned out for the best, because if I hadn't gotten out there early, I wouldn't have gotten them all.

every site was unique... the challenge is fun if you can find the time to do it...

in August we spent a couple off weeks up in British Columbia... great place to ride if you get the chance...

then a ferry ride from Prince Rupert to Port Hardy... great trip if you ever get the chance!!

Owyhee Back Country ByWay Winter day ridd

2/20/13
Went for a ride out to the Owyhee Desert a couple days ago... My Buddy Trents KLR is getting valve shims changed out, so he road my KLR...

We took a jeep trail that had about 6 inches of sand for a road base... I found out Pluric isn't the ONLY one who has trouble staying upright in the sand!!I was down before I'd gone 100 feet!... I found out the super 10 is pretty easy to pick up... sorry, no pics of the sleeping bike... but I did get some of the sand ruts where the tragedy occurred...

After a couple hundred yards of riding in this stuff, I figured out how to survive in it and didn't go down again... but it is work to ride this bike in sand!..
With two perfectly good bikes to ride... Trent decided to go for a hike??...

it was nice to get out there even though it's still pretty cold!! I sure like this bike!! even though she is a big gal!!

I'll be r
iding the big gal down to Death Valley in a Month... looking forward to letting her stretch her legs for a couple thousand miles
If anyone from the NW wants to ride down, Let me know!...

It's winter

...so I had to re-read this thread. Lots of cool spots. Rich is still the the lookout guy at No Business. We went up there a couple times this past summer.

Went through Mineral a few times this past summer as well. Sadly, this piece of old mining equipment is gone. Looked around and couldn't find it. I'm guessing a metal thief, but I hope it went to some museum or supp'in.

I believe it's part of the old Stamp Mill sitting nearby in the creek.

Off the www I found this photo of what was labeled "engine powered stamp mill". Different model, but it looks close.

Price of scrap was stupid high a while back. Shame. I picked up a couple bricks to add to the artifacts in Mama Yolk's gardens from the old smelter down creek. But just a couple.

Thanks so much for taking the time to post this thread! Very beautiful pictures and great stories. I'm hoping to relocate to Boise some time within the next 4-5 years. This thread gives me great reference and motivation.
