Did you get a deposit receipt for the $2K? Typically you would have the vehicle description, thus a VIN or license plate or both written on it which can be used by authorities to track him down,

The Drama Continues
Just got a call from the owner (landlord) of the home. He had to evict subj tenants a little while ago. He called them a band of gypsies with multiple families living in the home and several vehicles parked around the cul-de-sac. He said he made multiple calls to them to get have to clean up their act, but to no avail. He said they would never return his calls and that he had to go through the legal process to get them evicted.
![]() He didn't have anything positive to say and couldn't give me any names of the renters as everytime he talked to them they used a different name. He did say they're still in the area as they have several RV's parked behind the Shell Gas Station at the corner of 88th St NE and 36th Ave NE, which is up the street from the home. He said they also have some furniture in the house that they are supposed to remove tomorrow. I really want to go there tomorrow, but it may only be by chance I'd meet him. Although if I went, once there, I could call from a local phone and have him drop by. I'll drop by the police station on the way.Being a military guy this is almost fun other than the fact of it's my money and the messing around I have to do to get down there and back.

you can get a local prepaid cell phone at a fred meyer or walmart, that way local number, or block your number from them to call before you go.
I would speak with police before you go, I'm guessing they are aware of them. another way is to contact http://www.king5.com/news/get-jesse he does get results. I agree with the "choke the living shit out of..." but leave that to us old bastards that dont have much time or purpose. for you it would bugger life, you have a family, career etc, plus could make the next cross border trip difficult.

I see a reality show in the making
Perhaps there's an inmate connected with law enforcement that would run the plates on one of those RV's of his supposedly parked around a cul-de-sac. If one came back registered to the offensive party there might be some valid contact info on file.
My knee jerk reaction (other than throttling the bugger) would be to back up a truck one dark night in the near future and remove that RV he has for sale to a more secure location. Ya know, cul-de-sacs have a bad reputation . Your deposit = 2K ... His RV= 5.5K ... Now who's got who by the shorties? Might be in a better bargaining position for return of your 2K.The sensible (and not nearly as much fun) side of my brain says just call the cops, NOW. The guy deserves to spend some time explaining it all to a judge. I like a previous posters idea of maybe contacting the IRS. Even though I'm Canadian I know they don't exactly have a stellar reputation for being reasonable, especially in these tough times when they're tracking down non-resident citizens who've never even lived in the U.S. looking for tax money. Just thinking out loud here but if I was going to write a fictional story based on your experience the evasive party would finally be located by the DEA and local police with an amount of some illegal substance in his possession. A quantity sizeable enough that it could not simply be overlooked. How it got to be in his possession or on his property, and who tipped off the cops to its existence in the first place I haven't figured out yet for my fictional story. I emphasize the fictional aspect of this story and would under no circumstance suggest or condone anyone engaging in any illegal activity related to your particular real life situation. That would be wrong! Have no idea if the price you negotiated is a good one for the vehicle in question but unless you got a screaming deal and were actually able to close the transaction I'd steer clear of it, personally. I couldn't stand the memories each time I turned the key. I'm dying to know how this all turns out. Like you I have a basic trust in humanity and have made several transactions similar to this without incident. Haven't been burned yet but I won't forget your experience when I venture into the U.S. in search of an old Honda V65 Magna. Best of luck!

Thanks for the ideas, help and PM's. Got the bike ready, wifes got lots of food and cloths packed and I'll be on my way tomorrow morning.
Thanks to all who have given me their personal phone #s. I'll be in touch once nearby or if I need help. Pretty sad when it sounds like I'm going to war when I'm just trying to get 2k back from an RV sale. Cheers, Ken

If you do end up getting this POS in person just remember that you have much more to lose. He has probably been low life scum for a long time and that won't change.

I wouldn't go unarmed. I would also call and see if you can have the local authorities show up.

Leaving for WA now
I'm heading down within the 1/2 hr. Getting the Vic to Port Angeles ferry arriving in WA @ noon. Ride to Kingston, ferry from Kingstons to Edmonds and drive up to Marysville. Should get to MV by 1400-1430. Depending on how things go I may stay the night and try to resolve on sunday. I'll contact police once in MV.
Another inmate has had contact with the puke and is trying to arrange a 3pm viewing at the Shell at 88 @ 36. I should be there and waiting. Once I see him he won't be leaving my side.. literally. ![]() His # is 425-404-9473, his wife's is 425-404-9466 they have several RVs at the Shell mentioned above. I spoke with the Shell attendant and he said he's there every day. Feel free to add another appointment for viewing. I have lots of local support and several contact #s once I get there. thanks a lot to all. Wish me luck fuckers. ![]() Cheers Ken

This is like a good ride report with detective work, shady characters, lone good guy and a dragnet of tipsters.
![]() Unlikely the guy has your $2k any longer particularly if he has been bounced out of his rental and is living at large. Might be that to get anything out of this you will need to complete the deal, and maybe the guy is just having a run of bad luck and no matter where he turns he is stepping in shit. If you end up with the van you could look at all the good Karma that has lead you to its acquisition... vs the headache of getting this guy to the table. What would be funny is have someone else put down a deposit on the same RV, see if he takes it, then show up ready to complete your original deal while the other "complete stranger" is still there. Tough when you're that popular. All sorts of imaginative fun scenarios but leave those to this forum and take the high road and necessary precautions when you deal with this guy.Being military also the part I like is choke the shit out of this guy but it's just in keeping with my trade...close with and destroy and all |
