Northeast AZ-Not Rock'N'Roll it's Roll'on'Rocks 230mi off-rd

Exploration Ride, Monday, May 28 2012 ,
I planned this ride a while back and i was curious about certain terrains and their connection to each other. It's spread out over long vaste distance in northeast AZ. I picked the right time to do it because that day the temperature did not excced 75 deg.(@ about 6440ft elev). If all goes well & did not have any issues with bikes or ourselves all should go as planned and it did...Da major factor to face on that trip is rocks rocks & more rocks.
I picked up my fine tuned DRZ400 , while my buddy Bigbugburg rode his orange machine 400 like dream.

8am ready to roll on rocks and the KTM had no juice it was a quick fix to let z spark ignite the plug. 30 min later all is good as new.

Pic by bigbugburg.

We took quick break after climbin' rocky hill up on FR214.

(Picture by Bigbugurg)

5 min later we were back on the saddle on z way to Long Lake via fr211 nothing challanging there, it's just a liaison of easy fast dirt road to get us to our next stage where there's more fun to face i mean rocks...

Here's a first vids for our 2nd stage passed Long Lake------>http://contour.com/stories/230-miles-off-rdday3
Bigbugburg can move & move fast .

He's always ready for what's next, that's z type of rider that pushes u to z limit...& I like it...

Rocks what rocks?? Bigbug said.

Stick around more coming up...

In Long Lake (pictures by Bigbugberg).

I spotted 2 elks in the distance but there were too fast for me.

On z way to Anderson Pass FR125.

Once we crossed FR125 ( a easy liaison to fs126) we were ready for the fun part and that section that i was wondering about, if it's fun and a little technical it's going to be added to my route repertoire. FS233a

I had to keep close visual contact at my gps so we don't waist time & gas. Pete got tired of me running slow to read my gps so flew right pass me left in z dust. .
Video------------>http://contour.com/stories/230-miles-off-rdday
It was fun tight 2 trails route with plenty of switch backs, and dangerous ruts.
Once we were under z power line i had to hall a$$ to get to Winona to gain time for our way back and cover more trails.
Hi-speed under the Power line rd------->http://contour.com/stories/230-miles-off-rdday3

In Winona Bigbugburg looked dusty but no signs of fatigue whatsoever.

On the way to 135a taking a short dirt liaison.

That 2 vids from last year's ride, we took z same route, first vid. it start to get steep ~ 7:35 it's steeper than it looks, rocks are emdaded under the grass and in the ruts. It goes for miles that way watch:
------>http://contour.com/stories/grand-fal...final-stageday

--------->http://contour.com/stories/grand-fall-ride-5

Also the trail after Long Lake (one of the video) goes for ~ 5.7 miles of loose/embaded rocks (with hoops). U should have joined us to c how diverse and fun the terrain can be.

I don't think so, it says Kirkland. This is nowhere near Kirkland. This is north of Wilhoit off 89 going towards Prescott. Maybe 7 or 8 miles north of Wilhoit.
