Dear Karl. I miss our walks from the office to the shop every day. I miss our great talks in the morning. I sit in your chair every morning and hold your tools when I can. I am counting the days till you return..... Joe |

Denali Park
Update -- Arrived In Dawson city Yt. on sat.the 2nd stayed the night next day Sunday the 3rd rode the Top of the world hiway and crossed the border into Alaska and finished the day in Fairbanks. Monday the 4th we rode 400 mi round trip to the Artic circle nice sunny day that ended in 50mi of rain. The road was good, but ended up muddy because of a water truck. Tues 5th was bike service day, new tires and oil changes at Adventure Cycleworks in Fairbanks and then a 125 mi short day to Denali national park. Today wed. the 6th we took a day off riding and took a 8hr -- 130mi bus ride into the park. Tomorrow we ride the Denali hiway and then down to Valdez. We rode about 5300mi to here. That's all for now, time for some sleep.

After what they described as a good trip across the Denali Hwy the trio turned south toward Valdez. Here they round a curve about 5 miles north of Glennallen -
![]() It will be difficult for y'all to imagine, but we stood around swapping lies for over an hour before they got back on their bikes and continued on down the Richardson. Here are Jim, Tom, and Karl about to get rolling once more.

Onroad Repairs
I never understood why Mama Kaw went to narrower bearings when they put the wider rim on the C10 after 94. Just doesn't make sense. But it does my heart good to see a C10 and a C1q4 in this thread. Take care and ride safely guys.

- bikes that are definitely not dualsports - that had just made the transit of the Denali Hwy. Especially when some riders of "adventure" bikes shod with 80/20 or 50/50 tires balk at the trip unless it's bone dry with bright, sunny skies.Now... when are you going to get off your butt and point your Concours this way? The other Jack

Connie has been garaged with leaking forks so long the carbs need cleaning. I ride Paul Glaves old F650 a lot though. ; ). If I could get away I'd be there in a heartbeat, well maybe a lot of heartbeats. The bike know the way for sure. I'll be as old as you before I can get enough time away to do Alaska. They should have the highway fixed by then. ;)
