Keeping Clean On The Road, Canada, Alaska Hwy, Cassiar
I figured a thread identifying places to camp that have showers available might help more folks than just me. I know there are a number of campgrounds that have facilities along these roads.
Can those of you that know of sure campgrounds with facilities chime in where they are and details. As I enter oldfartdom, I really like to shower before a day of travel, yet I also enjoy camping. Thanks, Dennis

Thanks. Hopefully there is more input, I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to know.

Thanks, Dennis As an old fart I like camping as well but I like a shower at the end of a long day of riding, then I'm ready for a night of wine, woman and song while watching the sun come up ,either that or I have a beer and go to bed by 9pm![]() Cheers Slowphil |

Blue Cedars RV Park in Prince George has washroom and shower facilities - but if you'd rather do the backyard camping thing for free, drop me a PM. And yes... we have a shower, as well.
(and no... I don't mean the lawn sprinkler)

Check out 'The Milepost'. Has the information you'll need for Alaskan Highway etc.. Barnes and Noble usually stocks it.

There is a small family campsite at the very bottom of the Cassier on the west side if I remember right, I am 53 so please excuse the memory loss....lol. It has showers etc and was cheap as chips. Nothing else but a field so to speak for us tenters. There was a small park for trailers too.
The trick is to take a few pounds of wet wipes and do the sponge bath thang, before bed........imho.

I started this thread because I travel sporadically throughout Alaska and Canada. I've been using the Milepost for many years, but it doesn't contain all the information about hotels, campgrounds, restaurants, etc, only the ones that pay for coverage in the publication. Don't get me wrong, I like and use it, but it just doesn't cover it all.
As those of you who travel the north know, there are varying qualities of lodging etc available and are expensive and sometimes not available at all. Each of us have our own personal comfort level. I for one usually stay in hotels, not because I don't like camping, but because I'm able to enjoy a day of riding after being well rested, showered etc in the morning. I like to camp. I like to ride. Sometimes I am able to combine both, sometimes not. I would like to mark on my map places that are nice to camp that have a shower and facilities. I appreciate the offers of tent space etc. That is a great way to make new friends. I wish I were in a position to offer the same, but now I am not, perhaps in future. Thanks to all for contributions, I hope to meet some of you on the road ![]() Dennis
