Either way, I'd be down for just getting away from home for a bit and blasting around on dirt roads, passes, and 4x4 trails......as long as there's a well stocked cooler of micro-brew waiting at the cabin.

For sure and depending on the route down, a growler of home brew

I will be leaving Longmont Friday morning at a time to be determined, but early to beat some traffic. We will regroup with the Denver folks and head SW to Salida on an undetermined route.

Right now, I am the only North sider going and since it is still 3 weeks out, we are in the planning stages still.

If you are interested, let's talk about what time we would like to leave, etc.
Sorry if I sound vague.

Actually, I am also a "North sider" that might be interested in going on this trip.

I've been watching this thread for more details and still deciding if I can make it. Maybe I missed it, but are folks planning to ride down to Salida, or using a trailer or pick-up? I only have a lowly Honda XR650L and I don't think it be able to carry stuff for 2 days out. If I go, I'd be in the pick-up.

Great more other side of the track folks
We are riding down and we are "camping" in a cabin, so gear reqs should be light.

I've seen XR650's pcked for 3 month trips. 2 days is gravy. My KLR in my avatar is packed for a 2 week trip.

Oh No! I'm being mocked by KLR riders!

Perhaps I'm not as willing to forgo my linen table cloth and and tea service as y'all.

JK. Anyway, if I go in my pickup, I'd be happy to carry some stuff for other local folks headed down.

Thanks for organizing!

I might come down Friday, if I can get things sorted out with work in advance. Could you let me know where you meet the Denver riders on Friday morning?

If Friday doesn't work, I will come down Saturday with binskies, back to Denver Sunday. (If there is still room, that is!)

OK, so far here is the group and the statuses. If any of these are wrong, let me know. The cabin is a 2 br that sleeps 8 with bed type devices, which right is where we are at, so I would like to reach and see is anything has firmed up regarding plans, etc. I think we can call and ask about more folks, but they would be on the floor, etc. Routes down, back, and during the day are still open, though Monarch Crest was thrown out and from the pics, it looks wicked cool, though I cannot find much info on riding it on a DS.
