Made it to Del Norte. Great scenery on the way up here. Got most of it on the GoPro.

Am not sure what the rule of thumb is for airing up once back on tarmack. We've been using anything more than 10 miles or so.

Note. Del Norte has rerouted the trail around the airport property. Signs and everything.

Keep the great posts and information coming. A friend and I are hoping to make a quick run from central NM to the Wyoming border beginning June 24. Good luck with your ride!

The run from Del Norte to Gunison was easy except for about a mile of sandy double track just north of the Del Norte airport. Fantastic views going up the valley.
Only got one photo as we were hoping to make Gunnison before night fall. In need of a hotel to shower, laundry, and get provisions.

We cut the corner on hwy 114 (great twisties). May backtrack to cover the pass, off not will just head down 50 to resume the trail in the am.

If you stay in Gunnison, be aware that everything closes at 9:30pm. We ended up having to get Sonic. But got laundry done and stocked up for the next couple of days.

Departed Gunnison and decided not to backtrack on 114 and instead headed out on 50 to link back up with the trail. Marshall Pass has some good photo ops.

A tip over trying to get set up for a bike porn shot!

After Salida, the route up to Boreas Pass was very scenic with good fast roads and great rolling hills.

We are in Brekenridge now and just aired up the tires for the paved section to cross over I70. Headed for ute Pass and will figure out lodging closer to sunset.

Left Breckenridge and headed over Ute Pass (all paved or fast gravel). Then onto some great small county roads after Radon (S of Kremmling).

Note that county highway 11 has been rerouted a bit before (south) of the notable fording site. Will post a GPX track when we get back to KC.

Decided not to try the ford as it was plenty dark by then so we camped at what we figured was Rock Creek Campground, though there were no signs.

Crossed the for this am

and are getting gas in Steamboat Springs

Was cold last night. About 32* still early morning. Warmed up quickly by the time we departed camp at 8:30 am

We are at about the limit of our cold wx sleeping gear. Can go a but lower but will then be wearing additional layers I the bag.

Departed steamboat springs and am now in Rawlings, WY.

Tried to take some of the forest service roads thru the Routt National Forest, but there were several closed and we ended up backtracking to take highway 129 like the majority if the tracks do. Lost of fast / wide gravel roads and highway, with a break thru the Aspen Alley.

The highway and dirt roads out of Rawlings are pretty spartan. Oh, and our poor planning means that we are riding into the 30 mph winds. Not fun.

Made it to Atlantic City, WY last night and stayed in the Atlantic City Campground. The roads thru the plains were in good condition but had patches of sand and loose gravel

We got in after dark and the wind finally started to die down.

Having a huge breakfast /brunch at the Miner's Grubsteak and Dredge Saloon. Highly recommended.

They get plenty of CDR traffic. They've already had a few mountain bikers and 3 hikers come thru
