It wasn't like I was in a house with a locked door. I said OK but he was already in the tent setting up his sleeping bag.
Once Joel was in the tent it took him 30 minuted to get comfy and fall a sleep. And then I had a Dolby THX sound of snoring. Rich on one side, Joel on the other...

I washed out a riding shirt that afternoon and hung it out to dry, hoping it would be by the next day. When I got up at 4:30 it was frozen.

Now I know why everyone else set up their tents all the way into the woods, at least 100 yards away from Joel. ;)
I had my 20 deg dawn sleeping bag but it wasn't enough to keep me warm at Lake Navajo with rainfly on and at Indian Hallow without rainfly. I was absolutely freezing my ass off at Indian Hallow. It's time for a zero deg bag.

Odd, I guess the comfort ratings for sleeping bags don't apply to everyone. I have a 30deg rated down bag and wear polypropeline longjohns and long sleeve shirt - never cold. A knit cap helps a lot. My sleeping pad has foam in it, self inflating. I wonder if that extra insulation helps as well.

Ersin - now you know why I use the emergency bag instead of a tent, it keeps the old FF from joining you in the middle of the night.

+1 Apparently the degree rating keeps you alive to that temp. The 20* bag wasn't enough for me that night, but I was also unaware of the fact that you should NOT wear every single article of clothing you have in order for the sleeping bag to effectively radiate heat from your body.
