Runs like crap...

So I put new clutch shoes, springs, cleaned up total cvt system put it all back together...went to start for first time kept cranking and cranking it would start and idle for about 3 seconds then die, finally after about 5 minutes of that it would start and stay running to where I could give it gas and rev it up but it seemed to run like crap did'nt seem like it had any power anyone have any suggestions with experience with these ch250's what can I do to make it run like it should from here??Maybe its the by starter? I don't know for sure.

I experienced a somewhat similar situation when my spark plug cable got damaged on my ch150. I would suggest trying that.

Did it run correctly before you fixed it?

You're not really describing much. I mean if it ran like thus before why would you replace the cvt and clutch? That wouldn't affect any of the problems you described.

Like I said I would check all the electrics (cdi, ignitor cable, spark plug) and would hope it's that if not you're probably looking at a more complex engine problem.

Well when I baught it the guy must have had it warmed up where it would start, and the back brake was'nt working so I did'nt want to take a ride on it, but when I sat on it and gave it gas to go just riding it to load it in the truck it did'nt have no power so I figured the clutch shoes were worn. So I tore it apart and the clutch shoes were pretty wore out but not metal to metal or anything but I figured this was my problem also there was still grease in the variator from the factory so i cleaned it all out and also baught a new belt and put everything back together and it still running like it has no power like you would think the clutch isn't pulling like it should, but it also doesn't just want to start right up you gotta keep turning it over and over for it to eventually start and stay idling, so I let it warm up to where it takes throttle normally. But you can hold it wide open and itjuat slowly works up to where the back tire is spinning relatively fast then when you let off throttle it will die then it will start back up and idle. Just seems like it should rev out faster than it does.
