Mr Gregor I think you have it spot on with what MK66 says - (I read his stuff on the other forum) The 296 feels very torquey, smooth power delivery and so on and i think your right some other set ups will give more torque - but its not a bad starting point and its certainly a very rideable engine configuration - with this cam in. Cheers Jake.

I just reported what others have experienced. No personal experience with that cam. Best regards, Rudi |

Two additional questions: what configuration do you have regarding exhaust (header pipes and mufflers) and air box?

If this thread and the other current cam thread could ever have anything close to a conclusion I guess it would be that we are left to researching individual opinions about cams that hopefully they have actually run and compared. It's a real shame that many of the cams for our airheads do not have specs with check points so we could compare specs. Pretty much everyone realizes that comparing specs is as much art as science but perhaps not as much as comparing a bunch of he said/she said. Since the he said/she said is all we have, I hope the stories about other cams are a lot closer to the truth than that what I have found to be true about the 336 compared to most the stories about them out there. Going simply by reported performance, my 336 experience tells me to buy the cam with the worst reputation. There's a small crowd here that is real happy doing just that!

The dark blue is more natural. The red is a bit OTT if you ask me, a bit too much pornstar but if you feel you really do need enhancement just go with the lite blue.
Can we see side view too please? |

Nice curves, but just one point, can anyone see a lift point where all the durations match the claimed figures.
And if they can, shouldnt that give us the checking clearance?

The degree graph isn't near big enough to tell anything I don't think. You have six OR seven dashes representing 30 degrees. Ballpark figures again?
