I see, it doesn't unroll slowly like a seat belt but it takes a lot of pull to realese the switch.

I foff road riding, I think falling off the bike at slow speeds would still be enough to trigger the vest so I guess you could unplug it till you get back to high speed riding.... if you remember.

Here I am chiming in a couple years/months later. Not sure if there's another thread on this now. It seems to me the main role could be accomplished by a chest protector plus an inflatable neck brace. The neck is really the last unprotected part, and many catastrophic injuries are caused by snapping and twisting from impact or rapid deceleration. An inflatable neck brace would be cheaper than a full chest rig and still provide the majority of the benefit.

If it can be permanently connected to the suit, it will be a win win.

As to what I'm willing to pay, you can't put a price on safety. Probably a couple hundred.
