Kinda like the FJR after the Tenere got in the garage.

I know what you mean on the hurting bones....yesterday was a great ride, but I'm feeling it today.

Sorry for the sidetrack, I've just never met a thread I couldn't derail.

Enduro version

This is the second DRZ400-E I have. The first was used but last year I found this new one, although this model is no longer sold in Spain since 2007. It was more than three years in a Suzuki dealer unsold and I took it.
The E version It's a little lighter and powerful than the S version. With it I can do enduro and easily transforms it into a light trail. Too bad they no longer make bikes like this, the current enduro bikes are too radical and require too much maintenance for long rides.

Trail version

Amen. Mine has 6,000 miles with only oil changes and tires. It's like a yellow Yamaha.

Just arrive this from the skid plate factory.
I asked them:
- Strong aluminium: this is 4mm
- Raid style to protect both sides engine and front pipes
- Fix to the frame, not to the engine
- Enough space between it and the oil filter
- Long enough to protect the catalyser
- Easy change the oil, its only 4 bolts
What do you think? Suggestions please before they make the first prototype.

That looks good. You would be the man to test it out too.

I don't know but I doubt it. The skid plate is very exposed to stones. If you paint it in black you can see all the scratches very quickly.
At least mine is going to be aluminium colour.

No. The outer bars (silver) are strong and with a good quality steel but the anchor that go in the front (1) is a soft iron pipe who bends easily, simply with the bike weight. When finished with the skid plate will be the next accessory I need to do again. The idea is also try to cover better the radiator area and improve the look of the anchor (2) near the knees (really ugly).
