Where to post for donations
I did a search on personal appeals and donations, but couldn't find what I am looking for. Not really sure if I'm violating any rules. Anyway I've been a member on this site since last year. I recently got accepted to one of the top business schools in the world. Problem is I'm unemployed and I don't know a lot of people with the right financial backing to be my co-signer. I thought of a crazy idea that would pay for my education via donations. But I don't want to violate any rules on this site because I value the members on here and I've gained considerable knowledge from the community about motorcycles.
Would I violate any rules by posting a external link to my personal appeal site for donations? I'm still working on the site content. Below is link to the screen capture of the acceptance email I got from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.

Hmm.
I have been out of work for two years because of the economy, and it never occurred to me to "go there" and I will not. A bit tacky. Maybe my local roots.

Perhaps you are right. I don't like to get something for nothing either. That's why I was thinking of exchanging jokes, stories for cash donation to finance my education. Let's see what else I can sell. A little brainstorming and hustling this weekend isn't gonna hurt either. :-)

Personal appeals of this sort are generally not allowed at ADV Rider. There are exceptions made sometimes for charity, accidents, or illness, but not having enough money for post-graduate education doesn't really fit the mold.
You can make the link part of your signature, but if you started a thread or started asking for money in the threads, they'd probably be moved or nuked.
