Is that the cooling fan? I hope not the water pump impeller .

Cause I just worked on my bike again. I had the clutch case cover busted and leaking, so I replaced the cover and the case (ebay special ). And just had to deal with the water pump and impeller....

Man, are you ever coming back? Seems like you've been gone for a month now! My boy just asked me when he's gonna ride his little 50. Well, soon, very soon. My bike is up in business again.

Ride on dude!

Bummer to hear you are still having problems... Hang in there and get them sorted. I will be back in your neck of the woods in a week or three..

No need to worry. I haven't been posting much as I have not had my laptop and postng with my phone is a PITA, but dooable for short posts and not too many pics. I was waiting for parts in Meridian... Long story short after I had the fuel pump replaced under warranty by the most awesome dealer I know of (Outlaw Motorsports in Enterprise Oregon) I found that my cooling fan and motor was toast. Reflecting on this finding I know precisely when it happened... When I tried to prove this sign wrong... wanting to be one of the first through the slide...

Well, I have a couple pictures of the slide and my bike before I tried to get through it but they are on my camera. I had left my phone in the RAM mount on the bars... I got really stuck and had to dig out twice. I was hot, tired and frusterated. I am pretty sure that two people working together or even someone solo on a light bike could make it and likely have by now, but on my loaded bike and trailer solo, nope.
That cost me about a 27 mile detour, late in the day and I was low on fuel. Anyway, I figure I had packed enough snow and crap to do this to my fan...

Again I called the local dealer in Meridian Idaho (Snake River Yamaha) and they wanted to rape me. $100 to overnight the part and that meant I would have it sometime next week for full retail of $179 or thereabouts... They will not get my business with those tactics. Again I called Outlaw and will have the part in hand Wednesday for list plus only about $15 shipping. I am VERY dissapointed with Snake River and they will have no doubt of just how unhappy I am after I am finished with my ride and finish my corespondance. I made sure they knew both times that I was broke down, from out of the state on an extended ride. I can not and will not recommend them.

On the other hand, While I was in Meridian I volunteered to cook up burgers and dogs for the Vetrans and active duty soldiers. After I had finished I showed my support by attending an open house at the VA. Shortly after I was contacted by plumber who wanted to help me with my motorhome, which has plumbing ailments... so I am in Pendleton fetching my motorhome to take it back to Boise to have the plumbing fixed... It will only add 2 or 3 days to my stop there and it will sure make my wife happy to be able to take the motorhome out camping again... thats all good...
But that means the bike will finish the ride on the back of the motorhome... which is a little sad, but I have ridden more since June 11th than I have in a long time and I have really had a great time so far.
I plan to stop in Hood River on the way home. It will be sweet to ride the naked bike around the hood.

Too bad the bike will be finishing the trip on the back of your motorhome but it could be a heck of a lot worse. It sounds like you have been having a good time any way.

It's nice to know Outlaw in Enterprise is still taking care of you. They sure have been good to people.

Likewise, I just need somewhere to park the motorhome. I think it is too big for the Lazy Lodge and the fair is happening at the Fairgrounds.

Working on the plumbing in the motorhome today. Should have parts for the bike tomorrow.

Thank You

for the update, sorry to hear your ride was cut short, but seems like you've had an adventure just the same. I'm in Idaho too!

The James family that runs Outlaw are wonderful people, their boys were as kind and helpful when they were young as they are now at the business.

Thanks to my friends at Outlaw Motorsports in Enterprise OR my bike is back together and ready to ride!

Now I need to get the motorhome back together...
It was a busy day yesterday...

Digging down to the access panel...

Removing split lines in the kitchen...

Removing the hot water heater...

Out...

Trying to gain access to the rest og the bathroom pipes...

When I say this is not fun... that is a huge understatement....

Back at it...
