Just found your thread after googling if October is too early for TDF. I'm riding down from Texas on a KLR and was a bit discouraged about having to wait until December for it to be warm enough. Will be following along to see how everything goes. Backup plan was to sell the bike in BA and miss TDF but if I don't hear from a buyer by the time I get to BA, I'll just prep the bike for the end of the road and head south. Best of luck!

Dear All,

Lately my trip has ended 3 days after I started th¡is adeventure, due to an accident I had in Neuquen. There was a Protest in the road 22 and had to deviate via a Gravel road which was very very difficult, just to mention I drove 25 km in 1 and half hour the whole gravel was abt 70 km. However my accident was not due to the road but due to a nasty driver who was driving like if he was racing in a Rally... lost his track in a curve and I had to move before crashing me, the accident happened when I had already rided 50 km.

I felt and my knee was swollen like a water melon...even though I managed to keep riding upto San Martin de los Andes 350 km. Once in San Martin visited the doctor who after several xrays confirmed that my shinbone before my knee was Broken.

Now I am at home with my familly and looking forward to organize again this adventure.

Cheers to all

Tuff luck Sud-Mar. I hope the police catch the bad driver in the car.
