There is a little body of water there called Isa Lake or Two Ocean Lake that drains both ways.

Bouldered reporting from Kamloops currently

Nice here today as we head north to Prince George. Supposed to be 80 degrees. Some folks in trouble in Jasper area as the road is closed from JAsper to Prince George due to big flooding at the moment. Closing on and off between Revelstoke and Golden as well over the last few days. We spent 3 nights in Revelstoke riding out the storm before moving to Kamloops yesterday. Good luck folks, it's an adventure this year for sure. The locals say coldest, wettest, latest spring that they can recall.

I caught up w/ Heli in Death Valley a couple three years ago and had flown down to pick up the bike thinking all I'd need were nylon t-shirts. After a couple hours of 60mph snow in the pass coming into DV I was damn near incoherent when I arrived. Still didn't feel warm the next day.

Have a good time.

Eek Roads Closed,....

Sounds like there are quite a few road closures out there on the route up from the lower 48.

Here are some websites with current updates:

British Columbia: www.drivebc.ca
Yukon: www.511yukon.ca
Alaska: 511.alaska.gov

Hope these links are helpful for those of you on the road. Sounds like lots of people are stuck in Watson Lake.

Good luck out there!

She *is* smarter than you!

Hey, who would'a thunk it'd freakin' SNOW in Death Valley on my birthday? At least we didn't wake up in a lake like those sober people in site #24. Can you imagine the bummer of lucid hypothermia? What a drag.

KM, be an engineer and divert Old Faithful for a little de-icing on the roadway. Might work. ;)

Sunny in Whittier

The weather today was perfect in Whittier.
View from the deck of Varly's Swiftwater Seafood Cafe. The side stripe was fabulous!

Annie and I verified that the snow you encountered in Yellowstone is gone. We woke-up in the Grand Tetons, rode thru Yellowstone, then did the Chief Joseph Byway twice then finished off the day riding the Beartooth Pass. No snow except on top of the Beartooth.
