North NM "Time to Ride" Ride

New Date: Sunday June 10th

Ok, last Fall I put a DS 1-day 100-mile loop ride in the Carson NF together:

http://advrider.com/forums/showthrea...ighlight=Kiowa

Now I am looking to ride it again in May with the weather warmer than it was in October (less snow I hope).

The ride will start and end in Ojo Caliente.

I am looking for some ADV folk to ride it again. It's a pretty decent DS ride with some great scenery:

This weekend I will be doing some scouting to check snow levels

Here's a map of the route:

Kickstands up at 9:30AM on Sunday June 10th.

The "IN" List as of 6/9/2012:

Probably could answer my own question with a little Google Map research, but this gin & tonic is making me a bit lazy

Question: Is this route big bike friendly? (KTM 990A, that is)

Take a look at my photobucket link in the first post for the "lay of the land". I would not call it "friendly" towards bikes larger than 650s, but there are plenty of skilled riders that can ride it w/o a hitch.

I think I might be able to do this one Geo and this is an area I wanted to explore this season anyway!

What would you say the technical level of this ride is? Just trying to figure which bike is the best weapon for this ride.

Edit: Oops! Just saw your last post...I'll check out the photos in your previous RR and decide from that!!

+1

Seriously, some of the sections you can't get a Jeep through, but almost all of it yes. I can point out the sections w/ GPS track markings where you don't want to Jeep it.

When will your shoulder be ride ready?

Is this a "Red Ride"

I'm going to try to make this one, esp if Akasy is our 4 wheeled wingman w/ refreshments

The 12th looks good.
