yeah its not the same taper but it works fine. will probably by loaded's one when they are ready. the bike really idles nice now. almost as smooth as my klr. a little choke and it ticks right along at 1200 rpm if you want. lots more low end.

i am getting ready for a work day at Idaho City this weekend. gona be there for two days. will probably load up both bikes just for fun.

later.

Fuel economy?

What mpg are we all getting from the BST40 these days? I recall my 1999 LC4 stock was over 50, but I didn't ride much high rpm at the time. I never got a chance to check it with the open exhaust and lowered gearing. With my pumper carb I consistently get 38mpg with 16/45 gearing which puts me at 6krpm 90% of the time, lots of highway.

Does anyone ride with a BST40 at 6krpm and still get in the high 40's mpg?

Awesome info Creep. Thanks.

I have one question......

Why isn't this info along with the LC4 valve adjustment info and all the other good stuff like that put in one place for all to read?

Who runs this joint? Can we get it done?

I see that valve adjustment is stickied over on KTM Talk.

http://ktmtalk.com/index.php?showtopic=77948

Maybe we could just sticky those hot topics here.
