Remodeling a 1150 GS

I've finally got the GS back on the road...and just in time too...leave for The Hot Springs Rendezvous in a couple of days. I've made a whole lot of changes to the GS and received many PM's askng how it was going...so I've tried to takes lots of pics to show what's up.

If you go here and here you can see what led me up to this remodel.

I started this project 3 months ago...and still have some details to finalize...so this thread will take me awhile and I'll update it as I finish things. So what all have I done? It started with repairing a burned up wiring harness and replacing a leaking transmission input shaft seal. Also replaced the clutch while I was in there. I removed the ABS system. I cannibalized the old harness and made up a separate, secondary harness to run all my accessories. I replaced the front end with one from Motozilla...and replaced my stock final drive with a 3.2 final drive. I've replaced the stock headlights and the whole instrument panel. I actually just got in from adjusting the headlights...it's late and I'm tired...but here are some teaser shots to hold you over till I get back to this thing.

The big picture.

Some details.

That's a big cotter pin. Curious. How much does your bike weigh now?

How do you like the new front end? I'm guessing the comparison would go roughly like this: not as fun on the road, but better for off-road. Nose-dive, etc. But tell it to us anyways.

Where did you get it?

Your bike is seriously lustworthy.

Also what about that slim top box on the back?
Who? What? and where?

Taking that test ride doomed me forever.

I don't know how I am going to do it, or pay for it, but I MUST get my hands on a 1150 GS, soon!

Super cool, Robert.

I have lots of questions, but I'll wait for your updates here. Or maybe I'll just pester you mercilessly in Hot Springs.
