After checking in we inquired about Scooter Parking, and they pointed out a designated area right at the front entrance.
![]() The room was great. ![]() After relaxing for about 1.5 hr. we headed out to find some grub.

We rode around Chehalis looking for dinner. Although we saw antique stores and historical homes our stomachs urged us onward until we came to an oriental fast food place.
![]() I forget how spoiled we are living close to Vancouver. We get excellent Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese or Thai food any time we want it, and frequently go for Dim Sum (small chow in Chinese) and almost always get Garlic Prawn Spring rolls (very garlicky and fresh), Sticky Rice and Chicken feet. As a matter of fact some Asian customers of ours tell us that whenever someone from China comes to North America they always stop over in Vancouver, just to eat. ![]() After a tasty but somewhat confusing and unusual meal, ![]() we returned to the hotel, where wee planned to watch a little TV and rest up for the final push to Portland tomorrow.

what a nice adventure you are on. I had the very same model of B&W250 and I rode it to Kelowna for a scooter rally a few years ago. How time flies. I love the leisurely way you travel, stop for coffee and eat along the way. have fun and ride safe: bob(scoot) VancouverScootering.com |

Day5
Woke up early and shuffled down to the breakfast room for coffee. The ScooterChick was still sleeping so I got 2 coffees for me and one for her and went back tho the room to catch up on personal and work e-mails. After my bride woke up we went to get some breakfast.
![]() [I ![]() Our genial breakfast cook was ready to make custom omelets. Scooterchick had an omlette with cheese, ham, mushrooms and onions. She threw in a cup of yogurt to ease the "turmoil" of the Chinese food the night before! I decided to stick with scrambled. ![]() ![]() We loaded up and fuelled up at Chevron. ![]() Our plan was to ride down another secondary highway towards Portland.

It was a good plan, no a great plan as far as it went, and it didn't go too far before it went off the tracks. I had been slightly affected with allergies and had been taking something for them with no problem.
All of sudden my left eye started to sting, then water copiously, then my nose started to run. This coincided with a particularly mucky bit of road...ruts, choppy pavement and twisties and signs saying "motorcyclists use extreme caution"....D'oh!!...all with one eye. I beeped at Scooter Chick and she pulled over and administered some eye drops to tide me over. ![]() We drove through Newauken, Napavine and Evaline and stopped for me to take some more allergy meds. in Winlock. Winlock seemed to have an egg fetish! When we arrived in town, there was a huge banner hanging across the main street which read "Winlock Egg Days". Who'da thunkit!? ![]() ![]() Is it just my imagination, or does that rooster have a particularly nasty look in his eye!!!

the allergy meds I took at Winlock didn't help all that much so we headed straight for a drugstore when we made it to Longview.
I got some additional pharmaceutical help and Scooterchick put more drops in my eyes. We decided to wait a few minutes before continuing on. ![]()

We had something to eat at Starbux and had a lovely chat with a fellow scooterist named "Chuck"; the owner of a 2005, 200cc Vespa.

Cool ride report guys!
I live in Squamish (Valleycliffe) too and also have a scooter ('79 Vespa P200e). I'll keep my eyes peeled for you guys, maybe one day I'll get to hear your stories over a cup of Galileo or a pint of HSB. Take care - happy scootin'! Adrian |

Hey Adrian:
The guy we met in Longview Wa., Chuck has a Vespa 200 and tours with it and even takes his wife 2 up. For longer distances he also has a Silver Wing, but says he prefers the Vespa, and his wife does too.

Day 6
Got up early this a.m. and shuffled out to get some coffee. Checked e-mail and public transit and Scooter Chick got up around 8. we finally sauntered over to the breakfast room around 8:30 (keep in mind that breakfast ends at 9). Big mistake!!!
We arrived to find unrestrained pandemonium. The place was packed out, we had to scrounge a couple chairs from other tables just to find a place to sit, and that the remaining choices in breakfast items were extremely limited. The Scooter Chick managed to snag a couple sausage patties and some scrambled eggs, and I got a little more inventive. Here then is a new (previously unthinkable) breakfast entree. It's a waffle, topped with gravy, some broken up sausage patty and sliced boiled egg. Sounds exquisitely horrid no? It was surprisingly good.

Having salvaged what we could of breakfast, we made an inner vow to arrive earlier tomorrow.
We left the scooters to allow Scooter Chick's monkey butt and her nerves some much needed rest and walked next door to the TriMet transit hub, and bought all day tickets for $5. Not knowing our way around the city, and having found out that the train we get here goes directly to the Zoo, we saved nerves, time and frustration and let the transit system take us where we wanted to go. While we were riders we did see some parking signs $3.50 for first 1/2hr..........hmmmmmmmmm.
