The pictures aren't ready yet, so you'll have to settle with a written statement:
First you need to meet a young German rookie, on his first ever non-trivial journey on his bike. You make sure you meet him at the Puttgarden (D) - Rødby (DK) ferry. At that time he is leaving his home country, and is really paying attention. Then, after he has been exposed to the Arctic for a while, having experienced gales, rain and snow, then you invite him into your home. And give him a proper bed to sleep in. Finally you meet him for lunch, at his home, when he has his mother around to make sure he doesn't relax on his preparations. Then you get ecological potatoes (from the garden) served with parsley from the garden, salad from the garden (green and tomato), grilled pork, beef, chicken with curry, turkey, and of course bratwurst. With this local beer and water. We ate far, far too much. Pictures to come. ====== We're in the Italian part of Switzerland. We can't pay with euro, but when we said abbiamo fame the expected tools were set in motion. [TaSK]

Why is this thread so "meager"?
When we travel, we try to spend some time every evening, over dinner most days, to discuss what we have seen, who we have met, take notes for the report, and update the "blog". On this trip, however, we have mostly visited friends and family. Few nights in (boring) hotels and few (boring) dinners. The problem is that when you arrive at a friends house, you undress and grab a can of beer before heading into the sauna, then there is dinner, and then a cigar; when all this happens, when is a "blog" like this to be updated? So, I am sorry, but because the nature of the trip, it has been less entertaining than what I had expected. I hope to make it up to you in the report. Thank you, again, for your attention! [TaSK]

Your breakdowns provided plenty of drama on this trip. Overcoming challenges makes for a good report.

![]() Working on the report. This to show you one of the five days we had without rain during our 37 days outside of Tuscany. The picture documents beyond doubt that the nerves, not the grip, is the limiting factor when riding on a dry and clean surface. [TaSK]
