Sequoia National Forest report - Page 20

Our group had fun, even though we sent one back to camp just 2 miles into Cannel. I love it when you invite someone to an invite only ride and they invite someone else. This guy shows up on a huge blue Suzuki something or other with 15/46 gearing and 40lbs of air in the tires. Me:(how long you been riding?) newb:( about 8 months) WHAT THE FUUUUCK.
First three switchbacks, fail. I ride his bike up next double switch. He gets back on, high sides it and rolls down ravine 15 feet.
We get him past the switchbacks, he falls, kills his battery and starts looking for the kick starter. Nope. No kick starter. I pop his bike to life point it back to camp and say have a nice day.

Next day was good, cool up there. Outstanding trails.

. We ran into some banned riders that were pounding 22 ounce beers on the trail. A couple of them were missing, one broke a foot, but I saw them all at El Jacalltas that night. Black salsa.mmmm,. Blues fest rocked, cold beer, not a lot of teeth, but fun just the same.

Where we going this week end?

Bummed I missed this ride, bob thanks for the invite. Sorry I missed riding with the boys as well, next time. Good side, looking like our offer on the house will be accepted. Sea you boys soon.

On Cannel Meadow trail up from Kernville!? On a heavy dr650? Nuts, I did that trail 2008 at wrms out of that mountain alpine camp. The step ups would've got him too if it's the same trail I remember. Good thing u sent him back

That's the trail. Did in April on a te610. Snow, ice, little mud. I remember a couple guys got minor injuries on that ride. Not the worst I'd seen but tough for the uninitiated. Wise to send him down.

we often forget how short a time we get here, let us all enjoy the time we have left and ride as much as possible.
