Anyone have an ABS sensor for an '07 990 for sale?

I think mine is taking a dive.

I've been having surging issues and I looked around to see what might be causing it. While spinning the front tire by hand, I noticed that the ABS sensor was scraping against the ABS sensor wheel/grill. I'm guessing this has caused damage to the sensor, resulting in erroneous speed reading which may be causing the surging issues?

Thanks. I'll let you know if I need it for sure. I'm currently on the road and having surging issues. I thought that the ABS sensor mighty be damaged, but I was told that the speed signal from the ABS sensors are not used to control fuel injection. I'm guessing the speed signal from the pulse generator is used?

As recommended, I am going to try to clean ( and replace when I can) the fuel filter, adjust the throttle potentiometer, and synchronise the throttle bodies. A have a cable and TuneECU with me. Just need to find some tutorials on the TPS and throttle body stuff.

I had a malfunctioning speedo/ABS but engine always run great so as you said I don't think there is any relation with your surging issues.

+1

Mine went bad, actually the disk got a dent and the reading was off so the abs system just shut down. If your sensor is bad you wont have ABS and the light should go on. I would get it up to 20mph and lock the rear brake to see if its still working, be careful though. But I didn't have any surging issues, I'm pretty sure that's caused by something else. I would check your air filter first.

Yeah. I am trying to get to the bottom of the surging. It's a slight jerkiness (not the snatchy throttle) that is more noticeable at lower speeds and gears. I've had the bike for almost 50,000km, and this is something new.

I guess I have ruled out the ABS sensor since the ABS sensor is not involved in the calculation of fuel injection or timing.

A friend had the ABS light flashing

It finally was the R/R dying. I suggest you check that out as it may be the cause for all sorts of crazy behavior.
Cheers.

I have ABS plates, basically brand new, and a 500 mile in use 908 tire for anyone who wants to pick it all up in GRAYSLAKE Il.

When I mentioned my speedo/ABS malfunction above it was due to a dying rectifier regulator too. It fried some bulbs too, but at least in my case the engine worked flawlessly.

The first thing I am going to do is redo the connection a to the wires I had to splice a few weeks ago. I was driving along and lost all power. I found the main 30A fuse blown and a resistance check showed a short to ground just after the fuse. I looked up and saw that a cable had rattle free of its ties and melted against the exhaust header.

I spliced 3 small-gauge control wires and patched it back up. I used the crimp-type connectors and didn't have solder. I noticed the jerkiness not long after that happened. Going to look for a hardware store and purchase some solder and an iron to redo the connections. Hopefully that will clear things up.

If you've got 50,000 K on your bike and haven't changed the fuel filters I daresay that's your problem. Mine were hideous at 16,000 miles and from what I've read slow, hot conditions will really exacerbate the problem if it's the fuel filters. May try just putting around in traffic to see if you can replicate the symptoms.

IMHO I don't think it's the ABS sensor if your speedo is still working since they actuate each other. I've been wrong before, though, a time for 10.

Just ordered two new fuel filters from gefr.

I've been experiencing a confluence of issues. Trying to get them all worked out.
