Cool story bro! I did that ride in a car a while back and I am hoping to do it again soon on the bike... Curiuos as to your average speed and what extra fuel you may have used! I red you carried an extra 20 liters, was it for the cancelled portion of the ride? Did the bike ever get out of shape on the speed bumps curtousy of the thaws, what speeds can the be safely riden over?

Thanks

I tended to ride around 90-100kph. The bumps in the road were no problem at all. They were far more noticeable in my rescuers truck and in the flatbed. On the bike you hardly notice. I rarely slowed for them.

The extra fuel was for the Trans-Taiga section (hoping to do that part this year on a different old Guzzi).

I drained my tank at 376 kms north of Mattagami - about 11 kilometers short of the gas station at Relais Routier. Of course, I was carrying plenty so it was no problem.

When I went up there by car, I flew {150+} for the first part (thinking, woohoo no cops and no traffic) and as I saw milage for the relais and the gas gauge in the car I knew I was kinda screwed... Drove the last part about 50 clicks at about 70 km/h with the low fuel light on and just, just bearly made it...
