Glad you're feeling better. Hopefully you have developed an immunity to whatever got you, so you won't get it again. Must suck being sick on the road but it's bound to happen if you travel to enough places. So many bugs out there that your body has no idea how to handle (good thing it learns fast). It amazes me more when world travelers DON'T get sick. Swimming in hot springs might actually add to the risk. But they could also help by exposing you to small amounts of various bugs, so your body can learn how to fight them without making you feel sick.

[/QUOTE]Chupacabra????? I think the legend lives. This creature tore a similar path of destruction in the United States one time when it was coaxed into public appearance by a potent concoction only know as the "blend". It is a wiley creature as in this sighting there also was no physical evidence only eyewitness accounts of horror!!!!! |

I know I am here
Rode in to the heart of downtown Bogota Colombia today.
Its a big crazy city of ten million people I am sitting in a bar sipping on a glass of Pinot Noir thinking I could be anywhere right niw. People are dressed sharply. Its Friday night and the town is alive. People are laughing, drinking and spending money. And I am one of the tannest ones here I have been traveling for so long now that everything is starting to blend together and look the same.........the mountains, beaches, rivers cities etc If you were to take an airplane here, how would you know that you are really in Bogota. You step inside the plane, they shut the door, open the door and waala, you are there. But how do you really know where you are.......you don't. I know where I am because I navigated here myself. I used my GPS. I used my map. I followed the road signs and I stopped and asked for directions. I am in Bogota. I am here because I got myself here. If you take a bus, plane or train, you are just in a bar with a lot of people enjoying the evening. Just something I was thinking about today |

Is that Colombia or the MidWest..?
Can say that, because I'm from the midwest. ![]() Looks like a good place to heal up. One of my favorite ride reports...keep it going.

Here is the owner Dr Marco Rico. Checking out his vines.
Because it is in the tropics, he gets two crops a year at all diferent times. But after 30 years in business, someone sprayed his entire vineyard with herbicide trying to put him out of business. He may not only lose his crop this year, but he may lose his entire vineyard. He said in the history of the world, there has only been one other case of this type of sabotage. Only in Colombia! So sad!
