Feeling better today.

That Salto de Angel was scary. I saw pictures of it and it looked fun. When I got there, at first I wasn't sure I could do it. But it was just like walking down a narrow sidewalk. The wind made it even more scary
Healthy Lalo!

I am glad you finally took some meds. Some of those things can really cause bigger issues if left to have time to work.

And, now explain to me why you wouldn't jump out of a plane? I think it is safer than that!

My only fear is jumping and then falling
I am not really afraid of heights
Trust me, it was really scary.
The trick was not to focus on looking down.

Team Colombia

I had lunch with some of my Colombian friends today. We went to one of 4 restaurants that Camillo owns. These guys are the best! later I stopped by the BMW dealer in Bogota and got some stuff to service my bike.
Did you know, that my bike in Colombia is about 90,000,000 Pesos?

Bogota

I was staying with a friend in Bogota.
Here's the view from his place.
I didn't want to leave.
I could look at this view all day.
And my friends really took care of me.
They went well beyond the norm to make me feel at home.
They helped me get parts for my bike
We went to nice dinners
Massages
everything
I am forever greatful

I did a full service on my motorcycle in my friend's parking garage.
I checked the valves. Two were a little loose, but I think still in spec. Better than too tight. I changed the oil and filter
Changed the oil in the final drive.
New spark plugs (turns out I was carrying the wrong plus and plug wrench for all these miles and had to buy the correct ones in Bogota.
And cleaned the air filters.
I am good to go for the next continent

Ready to roll
I left Bogota
My bike is fully loaded.
I bought tires there and I am going to carry them in to Ecuador so I can get a few more miles out of the ones I have.
I have about 11,000 miles on the Heidenaus and they are still going.
I bought these Heidenaus from the advice of a fellow ADVrider's advice......Thanks
These tires should get me to Europe!

After leaving Bogota, I got a late start and made it to a little town called Honda. There was this suspension bridge that crossed this fast flowing muddy river. I stood on the bridge and it would shake so much when a truck passed over that it almost knocked you off.

Colombia has 3 mountain ranges.
They are all part of the Andes (the second highest mountains in the world)
I crossed over 2 of them yesterday. And because I am in the tropics, it rains a lot here in the mountains. And the rain causes landslides. So they are always making repairs to the road. And unlike in the states where you might be delayed 5 or 10 minutes tops, in Colombia, they shut down the road for hours.
My first delay was a 4 hours delay. Fortunately for me, I got there towards the end and made my way to the front of the line. There were 3 construction delays so I didn't make it all that far.

There is a mountain called Nevado de Ruiz. It is over 15,000 feet. I drove up to 13, 200 feet and had to turn back because I was very low on gas. I did find a hot springs to take a dip in at 11,500 feet. I went in naked so.......no pictures of me!

The road was up in the clouds so visibility was limited to 50 feet in some places. I am up 4000 meters at this point
