Great ride

I have been lurking here for awhile. Just wanted to say thanks for all the effort you put in to the RR.

Who is to say you can't have both? Might have to check out the hippies in the "magic bus".

Incredible journey..

Thanks for the kind words
And the blog is as much for me as it is for everyone and anyone to enjoy.
It is my journal
I am just capturing the moments for me to remember and reflect back on one day

I didn't think you would able to find me.
Google maps is not even close
The population of this town is maybe 500 max.
All the people here wear those funny looking hats
I am about 40 miles NW of Latacunga up in the mountains.
The road maybe not be on a lot of maps
See if that helps

I'll call Carrie and see if I can request it! Almost had to miss the trip! Tore my UCL in my thumb. Should have had surgery right away, but I am an idiot and waiting until I get back! The bucket list is called that for a reason so i felt i had to check that box while the window was open. I'll fill you in on the details later! As for you, I am bummed you won't be there. Russ is going too! That said, you have your own bucket list box you are checking off and I am digging it! As many have posted earlier, I am riding with you and trying to soak up as much from you as I can! Shiny side up homeboy.

Heading down in to the jungle in Ecuador was not an option from Quito. The road was washed out and I couldn't get thru.
So I headed up in to the mountains to a little village called Chugchilan. And getting there was almost the best part. It was very scenic. Lots of twists and turns. Views of snow capped volcanoes. And deep river valleys.

Because the road was washed out, I wasn't sure if I had enough gas to get back. I stopped and found gas along the way. The lady charged me $3.50 a gallon for 2 gallons. That sounds like a deal but gas is only $1,50 here and I don't think I got a full 2 gallons. But it was better than running out in the Andes.
