The population of this town is maybe 500 max.
All the people here wear those funny looking hats
I am about 40 miles NW of Latacunga up in the mountains.
The road maybe not be on a lot of maps

Heading down in to the jungle in Ecuador was not an option from Quito. The road was washed out and I couldn't get thru.
So I headed up in to the mountains to a little village called Chugchilan. And getting there was almost the best part. It was very scenic. Lots of twists and turns. Views of snow capped volcanoes. And deep river valleys.

Because the road was washed out, I wasn't sure if I had enough gas to get back. I stopped and found gas along the way. The lady charged me $3.50 a gallon for 2 gallons. That sounds like a deal but gas is only $1,50 here and I don't think I got a full 2 gallons. But it was better than running out in the Andes.
