Tit for Tat

Both of you, take it off line. No one give's a sh#t. The ride and personal philosophy are great and inspiring, the private stuff should stay that way.

Calm down because people do give a sh!t. This is his trip and he can tell the story any way he wants. There will be physical, personal, and emotional challenges in one form or another on any long term ride. Going on an adventure like this is not all fun and games.

Lalo - thanks for sharing and please carry on.

My ex gf is a good person
I know it deep down inside past the hurt.
Because that is where I was at when she broke it off with me and started to date her new BF.
With that said, that is all I am going to say.
The personal stuff is between us.
And I hope it stays that way.

But I do have a situation that I am trying to deal with from afar.
I have a storage container on her property with some motorcycles and other personal possessions that I need to move to another site.
It is not as simple as just moving the container as the motorcycle would all fall over in transport. I need to move the individual bikes and the container separately.
I cant just hire a moving company as I dont trust them to move motorcycles.
It is looking like I might need to fly home for a few days to deal with this situation.
There has to be a easy solution to this.
I need to sleep on it.
And I didn't get much sleep last night worrying about

I know there are two sides to every story, but I don't think this right.
I would have been more than happy to share every last bottle with her but she couldn't wait for me to return.
She asked me to move my stuff out which I am currently in the process of getting that done by the end of next month

When you post, whatever the forum, you're soliciting feedback and asking for a conversation, with no pre-conditions. So anyone who subscribes has just as much right to share their thoughts and express an opinion or a view.

So here's my personal thoughts/observations (said in a very calm way). The personal/private details between two people should stay that way unless and until they both agree to share things in public. Sure, we all have a RIGHT to say whatever we feel like, the judgement comes from asking is it the RIGHT thing to do. My personal view is two people doing a he said/she said adds nothing to the journey. Others may like the reality show culture, I don't. Just my feedback. By the way, I didn't see that happening, just the risk of it happening. Maybe I overreacted - part of my anti-bodies to the way society seems to be moving in the direction of glorifying personal drama.

For me, I've taken huge pleasure from the postings on this thread. In particular the earlier philosophical thoughts about why now, why ever, etc. I've forwarded the words from a couple of post to a number of friends as they have struck me as very deep and thoughtful.

In this adventure park, lets keep all the rides open

You are the architect FD177, build it like you want it....

Never hurts to spice it up.

I have met a few other motorcycle travelers along the way. And I am surprised that most of them don't have a blog.
I don't know why I like blogging.
It takes a lot of my time but I find it rewarding.
I think part of the reason is gives me a reason for my trip. So I can share it with others.
Part or it is a ego thing and I am just showing off I suppose.
But for good or bad, this blog is as much for me as it is for everyone else.
Honestly, a good portion of my views are from me looking at my pictures and enjoying my trip in retrospect.
This is for me more than anyone.
It is my electronic journal
It's my diary that I make public.
I share my thoughts and feelings from what ever I am experiencing or feeling that day.
And I want to remember my feelings when I go back and read my stories on my blog.
.
I don't think I have ever said anything bad about my ex gf on my blog.
In fact, I have done quite the opposite.
I have said a lot of nice things about her on here. And I have many pictures of her in here when we traveled together.
But the unfortunate circumstances are still part of my trip and my journey. I show you all the good times. It makes sense that you see the bad too.
I hope to keep things civil and I would never post anything bad about her here.
She is a good person with a big heart.
And I think of her often and miss her. And if she knew that, I think things would be different.
But it is something to consider before embarking on such a journey. You have to understand the implications. it's not all fun and games living on the road on a motorcycle and you are not the only one that can get potentially hurt along the way.

Lima

The hostel I was staying at in Lima is called Flying Dog. It is a nice place. Good people and well run.
They have bicycles that you can take out for the day. But all 3 bikes were broken. I was bored so I got out my tools and took the good parts from the 3 and made one working bike. And then went out for a ride along the beach. The bike was some Chinese piece of crap. It made me think how important it was to have good equipment for a long bike (or motorcycle) ride. It made me think again about getting a Royal Enfield for a trip through India and SE Asia.
