That night was formal night. Every other man was wearing a suit or a tux.
For me, I was wearing the same old shirt that I wore to the wedding in Lima. And I pretty much wore it most nights too.
And I wore my Jesus sandals every day and night.
Kathe on the otherhand, looked smashing every night in a different outfit.

The next day we pulled in to a port close to Monaco.
Here we are having breakfast on the ship.
We always liked to sit by the window.

To get to Monaco, we had to take a little boat from our ship to the nearby port. Then we walked to the train station and took a train about 30 minutes in to Monte Carlo.
Sounds simple
But we needed to be back to the ship at 5:30 so one little delay or error on our part or a train delay and we would miss the boat

Thumb Ride report

Hòla El Bacho!

First:
I just finished catching up - read about 100 pages just yesterday.
That way I came to realize that I could have spent the whole Saturday testing my new Conti Attacks, but I was kind of curious where you would be right now, so I kept on reading until it got dark outside...

Riding South America has always been my dream, I nearly did it in 2011 but opted for Canada / USA instead (did 12k miles from end of April to June, east coast to west coast). I somehow miss riding in California, since it has great roads and weather, gas is only a few dollars a gallon and of course: "In-and-out" burgers )

If you get somewhere between the Nürburgring and northern Germany, sent me a PM. I live in Hamburg, Germany where you will come by if you go up to Scandinavia (there's a surf spot in northwestern Denmark, google "Cold Hawaii" or Klitmøller). I am also regularly in the Rhineland area.

I can also provide a place to crash, wash laundry, maintain your "Flying Dutchman" (I have some tools, my neighbour has a motorcycle repair shop).
We might also be able to raid my family's wine cellar (I guess I saw you having a bottle of Condado De Haza).

P. S.: "Jupiters Travels" written by the all-famous Ted Simon has accumulated a recognizable layer of dusk on its cover since I discovered your ride report.

I have always wanted to go to Monaco. I want to watch the GP race some day. And it was everything that I thought it would be. Ferrari's and Lamborghini's were a dime a dozen.
Sexy girls looking for their sugar daddies were 20 for a dollar.
A beer at a cool bar would set you back 10 Euro.
And money seemed to be dripping out of every corner. And on every corner there seemed to be a Gucci, Hermes, Channel and Prada shop.

The view of the harbour was just like I thought it would be.......beautiful! But the boats were smaller than I thought. There were some big boats but after being on the second biggest boat in the world, they all seemed small

LOL
Glad you are enjoying the ride
Yes.....miss In n out burger.....nothing else like it in the world
I am loving Europe, but I told my GF yesterday that South America is much better for me. Europe is too crowded. Too many tourist. Too planned. I hope you make the trip some day

I visited the Haza winery. Awesome stop
Bought a bottle and drank it at my camp spot with the video.

Yes, I will try and swing by. Especially when you use the words "raid the wine cellar"

And pardon me if I say so, but you are an idiot if you are reading my blog instead of out riding. Or doing anything else for that matter. And yes, I am an idiot too at times. I caught myself spending 2 hours in Monaco at a bar uploading pictures to my blog instead of enjoying my time in Monte Carlo on the beach with my GF. What an idiot!!!!!
After that, I turned off the computer and didn't upload a single story until I got off the ship.
Thanks for catching up with my story but your own story is always so much better than someone elses.
At least that is what I learned.
Hope to see you soon
