I am on my way now. And I still have a few kroners in my pocket.
But it is insanely expensive here.
It is like a different planet
I am at a McDonalds now
A happy meal is $8 and there is nothing happy about that
And guess what? There is no value menu here.......surprise surprise

Too bad shipping would make up the difference if I were to wire you some cash to send me a few crates full. :P
I am carrying around this magnum bottle (4 beers) of the Chimay Blue they gave me waiting for someone to share it with.
I can't wait to drink it.......it is 7 pounds of dead weight

When it got light outside very difficult riding. And I am really not enjoying it either. I just feel like shit. I have not made much progress either here in Norway. It is a much bigger country than I thought. The riding is with Kathe i

Look, pal, you're in the puntang capital of the universe, EUROPE. Start laying pipe, like a plumber. Good training for Africa.
Actually I have been a good boy here in Europe
Remember, I have a GF in Lima
And I know some of you were thinking I had an STD.
It sure felt like it
But it would have been an immaculate STD if I did

Of course I knew that
I just didn't know that I was that dehydrated at the time.
And if I am going to spend $4, I would rather buy a beer than water.
Water should be free
The beer, I had with me from Belgium.

And for the record...... and for a laugh
Right now I am carrying 3 bottles of red wine, 1 bottle of white wine, 3 bottles of Champagne, 3 bottles of beers from Belgium and the magnum of Chimay........all on my motorcycle. And all for the past 3000 miles
No wonder I am exhausted.
But these wines and beers I can not buy any where else in the world and I could only buy at the wineries and breweries where I bought them. I just couldn't refuse
Please remember, my motorcycle is also my house. But it is time to do some cleaning.
In the famous words of my ex GF......"wine party - who's in?"

I did the Norway Sweden Finland thing 2 summers ago. Prepare for expensive everything and also plenty of ferries.... The ferries arent dreadfully expensive but they add up after a while. Absolutly the most beautiful and amazing scenery though!

If you are going to make it to Moscow let me know I have a place for you to stay with a garage.

PS If you think the girls there are beautiful you havent been to Russia yet!

Monty

I would love to travel from Finland to St Petersburg but the visa requirements to get in to Russia are tricky and time consuming.
At this time, I am just going to take the ferry to Estonia which I should be able to do without a problem.
Unless you know a guy that can shortcut the system?

No the visa thing is a little time consuming... If it helps I could get you a letter of invite for Russia... But you would still have to stop at a Russian embassy and wait a few days for them to process it. If you interested PM me and I can get the letter of invite done for you.

You will enjoy Talinn one of the neatest cities I have been to in Europe. Dont know why but for me if fit the dreams I had as a child of what Europe would look like!

OK now...

Just caught up on you Lalo after not checking in for a couple weeks.

Let's see... pretty girls, not so pretty girls (whale blubber), Sculpture Park, Screem (I like the Feb 29th bit, good try!), Norway... way too expensive, pissing blood, etc., etc., etc.

Hey... where's a pic of Kathe? We need more Kathe!

Travel on Mr SoCal.

I was looking for Cranberry Juice but couldn't find any.
I even kept the medicine at home to treat UTI that I bought in Mexico for a certain someone that used to get them a lot.
But of course I didn't bring it with me.
Now I now how bad it hurts
She always told me it was bad

Norway

There are a lot of ferries and tunnels here in Norway.
And I truly don't understand how it all works
Some you have to pay for and some you don't
Entering in to Norway, I found out there are also toll roads.
And any time there is an option to sail on thru without a gate to go thru, I chose that lane. They can just read my plate with their cameras and send me a bill
But I think most of the electronic tolls roads are free for motos.
I think it is because the cameras point forward and read the front license plate on the cars. And since motos don't have front plates, it's free!

But there are also a ton of speed cameras here. Everyone is so afraid to go over the speed limit. But again, the cameras point at the front of the cars. No worries for me!
But the silly thing is there is a warning sign just ahead of the camera letting you know a camera is coming. Go figure. It must have been something that was negotiated with the bureaucrats and the free righters.

In any case, here is the line up waiting for the ferry.
I think I have been on 5 or 6 so far.
In fact, I am waiting for one right now

The tunnels are crazy here.
There have to be thousands.
The longest one I have been in is 5 miles but I am sure there are ones much longer.
I have been in ones that go under the water in a fiord. In fact, they go down so deep that your ears pop.
But this one takes the cake. It is brand new. Just a week old now. Just opened it. What looks like a flying saucer is actually a round a bout in a tunnel. There were actually two. And the tunnel was 5 miles long then popped out at a huge bridge over a fiord and then back in to another tunnel on the other side. That is why the gas costs $11 a gallon over here.
