Beer is expensive in Sweden and Finland too.
This is in Euros so it is over $3 for one bottle of MGD.
We have it so good in the States

About four hours north of Helsinki, I run in to some motorcycle guys at a gas station and asked them where to buy a new front tire. They hooked me up with some good information. I found the place no problem. They had a Heidenau K60 in stock. I paid 140 Euro to have it mounted and balanced. I took the wheel on and off my bike. Plus I replaced the front brake pads while I was at it. I had been carrying the pads with me the whole time. My bike is getting lighter

This pic is a bit out of order.
I found this camp spot about 400 miles north of Helsinki.
Again, I pulled off the main road on to a smaller road and then took a trail to this spot to hang my hammock

Estonia......here I come

The sun is out here in Helsinki.
I am going to walk around town for a little bit on this Friday morning and then take a ferry to Estonia.
Looking forward to it.

Excellent RR! If you intend to ride through Krakow (southern Poland) PM me - I'll be glad to have a beer with you and help, if needed.

I missed my ferry to Estonia.
I kind of figured I would show up ten minutes before and waltz on in.
But they shut the doors 20 minutes before.
Who knew
They certainly don't run a tight ship like that in South America
Oh well
Next ferry is in three more hours.
I guess I will just have to stay in Helsinki a bit longer and enjoy the sights.
And there are some good looking sights to behold here

It is considered cheap by the Norwegians whom flock to the mega supermarkets on across the border just to buy beer and meat.

homeless

I didn't get much sleep last night so I took a little nap on the bench in the town square.
When I opened my eyes, everyone was starring at me. And one guy was taking a picture.

A couple of days ago, a guy walks up to me and hands me 5 euros.
I said......what is this for. He replied......I just thought you could use it.

The question is........am I starting to look homeless?

I just love your report, I check for updates every day.
When in Estonia you might visit Tsiklonaut (Marcus & Kariina)?

I went to McDonalds today here in Helsinki to use the bathroom.
The toliet was occupied and I really had to go.
After about five minutes of patiently waiting, I finally pounded on the door and yelled to hurry up.
About 30 seconds later, out walks a young couple with a shameful look on their faces.
I laughed and said I was sorry.
I am sure I was rushing the poor guy and he couldn't finish.
Get it
The Finn didn't finish.
True story.

Just caught up after going on a fishing trip. It was great having more than a page to read. The more I read your RR the more I admire you for following your dream. Well done.

I'd fallen back 60 pages due to a crazy work schedule. 2 days ago on my way home, I high-sided my bike in the rain (after putting 70,000kms on it over the years). The positive: I got to catchup on all those pages. The downside: You had me laughing out loud a few times which is painful on the ribs. ;)

Leaving in a week for a mini 2 week adventure through the alps. Was hoping we'd cross paths but looks like it won't be the case. Keep up the great stuff and stay healthy. Glad to hear you've got a new front tire... Let's avoid following my lead - keep the Dutchman rubber side down!

Tallinn

Tallinn Estonia is cool.
I rolled off the ferry at midnight last night and rode in to the heart of old town. The streets were crammed with party goers.
I rode thru the crowd and received a warm welcome.
The price of things is back to normal.
Feels good to be out of Scandinavia and in Eastern Europe
