There is an interesting Monastery vineyard just south of Colorado Springs in Canon City called Holy Cross Abbey. I can't tell you if their wine is good our not as I am not a wine aficionado, but I have ridden down there with a bunch of ADV guys so they could by some of their wine. So, if you are ever in the area, here is one for you to check out!

I actually went there leaving my brother's house last year.
I might even have a picture about 250 pages earlier

Ed,

After enjoying your exploits in Spain I decided to try a Spanish wine. It was different in a good way. I usually drink CA Pinots. I picked it up at Costco for $26
Keep up the interesting RR

That is a great wine for a great price.
If you go back and look at my pictures and stories from Panama last year, I bought a 1996 Faustino I Gran Reserva. It was a bit of a splurge but I had it before and remembered it to be excellent. Lots of dusty dried fruit notes that an old school Rioja is famous for. Plus you are buying a wine with 14 years of age on it and perfectly ready to drink. Good job.
Now go back and try some Pinot from New Zealand, Super Tuscans from Italy, Pinotage from South Africa and when you think you know it all, buy some Burgundy and you will be humbled by it all. There is so much to know and explore out there. Cheers

Sick again

Well after being on the road since June last year, I was wondering when I was going to get my first cold. Here in Estonia, I got a scratchy, dry throat and a stuffy nose . In my book, that is a pretty good run without having a cold
It is no fun but it is much better than peeing blood and running a 101.5 temperature.
And it is not keeping me from the fun.

So... I was heading towards Helsinki, to grab a cup of coffee and maybe shoot some photos in the town.

At the last minute I decided to go and get my ferry tickets for Stockholm from the Viking line offices in the dock. As I was exiting the parking at the docks I came face to face with a yellow GS entering the parking...

And this is the guy I met and had a coffee (and some wine) with, in a down town cafe in Helsinki - Lalo!

All my best for the next stage of your journey my friend. I hope to see you again on the road!

Safe Rides!
George

Must be nice to be in a place where adult beverages are reasonably priced again. Norway prices were shocking...

Isn't about time for a reunion with a cutie from Peru?

Other than consumables, has the GS been reliable?

The GS has been completely reliable.
No complaints (other than the transmission)
Maybe I need more of a challenge and I think that Royal Enfield will provide that.
And when I am finished with Europe, Kathe and I will get together for some more fun.

Hiking in Lahemaa National Park.
It is undeveloped forest along the Baltic Sea.
The Soviets set this area aside as an area to observe and protect the coast so it is still mostly unspoiled.
