a solo RTW moto trip can't be done alone

"It takes a village" to quote our next President's words.........God help us.

I try to do everything myself and not to impose or rely on anyone else to make this trip happen, but a journey like this can't be done alone. You will need some help along the way.

At this time I want to thank again some people that have really helped me along the way and helped me continue my journey.

First I want to thank my friend David who moved all my crap out of my ex GF's house. You really know who your friends are when they help you move but he is a true friend considering he did it without me even pitching in. He also gave me a Givi case that I am hoping to use in SE Asia on the CRF250L that I hope to buy.
Thanks Dave......i really appreciate our 35 years of friendship.

Then there is Joe......my old neighbor who makes a mean lasagna. But he also jumped in to rescue my wine from my ex GF's house and move it in to my storage facility. Again not a fun task, but he came thru for me and I will never forget it.

I have also had some friends like Derek help me get maps loaded in my GPS. That was a huge help.

And my friend Kevin who is watching after The Flying Dutchman in Albania for me and let me use his rockstar beach house in Mexico

And last but not least, my parents. First I want to thank them for just being my parents, doing a good job raising me right and just being there just in case I need them. They also help ship some items to me that I needed to continue my trip.
I know that I can count on them in a clutch.

And other friends help with help along the way

So if you are planning a solo trip, make sure you have some good friends and family out there to help. Even though you May not think you will need them, you most likely will, and it is nice to know you have some good friends out there to help you when you need it most

Ed, thanks for sharing your adventure with us. It sounds like a great trip. I'm looking forward to the Asian leg of your race. I recently purchased a 2014 CRF250L and am interested to hear your opinion of the bike. I know I'm loving mine so far.

I just wanted to say that I've been really enjoying this thread (not finished reading it yet). Long time lurker. Finally joined the site today. I just wanted to thank you for sharing you ride report with us. I take many great trips, but rarely take a camera or put it into words. Good job.

A guy sent me a private message yesterday and said that he had just caught up with my ride report and it took him eight days reading ten hours each day.
Wow

I must admit I have been reading up on your thread for a few weeks now - though I have not committed the same amount of time as noted above... though that is merely due to my day job getting in the way

I will add that I have subscribed to the thread I am a long time adventure rider myself moved to Germany for several years and rode around Europe as often as possible now back in Canada confined by house and job and every time I read a thread like this I long for the road and the travels and wonder about leaving it all behind!

We are all admirably envious and I would venture to say that no matter where you are you will be among friends I know I would personally meet up anywhere enroute!
Ride on!
oh and would love to hear more about what you do / or uh er did?
and definitely need more pics of Kath... sorry!

Right now I need a friend in Thailand that can help me with buying a CRF250L. It would nice to have someone that can speak the language, someone that give me a bed and look after my things while I am out bike shopping and someone to help me with obtaining residency so I can put the bike's title in to my name.
