Laugh Ride on Lalo!

Keep on going, your stories, pics, & attitude are refreshing. These Laos village shots, are almost as good as the long-neck village. Almost as enjoyable Chimay Grand Reserve (now at Costco & Ralphs) Just cracked a bottle of blue, and the first glass toasted you Lalo. Whenever you pass thru LA (again) love to buy you dinner & a round.

My confess: I didn't read the first 160 pages of your RR.. I skipped all the part up to Argentina because I found your RR from two 'handsome oregonian" when they accused you of attaching dynamite to a tree in the vineyard. Yesterday was the day I decided to read from first post and I enjoyed your Alaska/Canada/Central & South America report..

I didn't realized that you were with the blonde and changed woman during the trip. Good for you! I wonder if the ex is still following your RR? I am sure she is a good person like you said. What I find interesting is that both of you are traveller so it seems that you both understood the demand of her professional and your lifestyle. It is possible that the first one probably can't deal with your lifestyle while second one understand it because of her professional.

I had planned on doing as much camping as possible myself when I start my RTW trip next year.. and I don't think I have found any other RR that had more camping than hotel stay than your RR and you inspired me to do it the cowboy way.. I'll be cautious about where to camp after attempt robbery on you in Ecuador.

Be interest to see how the rest of your SE Asia tour play out.. (yeah, I have been following your Europe & short downtime & SE Asia trip so I am now up to date from Alaska to now).

But I have one question now.. do you think the price you have paid was worth it?? Or is it still too early to answer? I think you are almost 3/4 done with your trip and I probably will say the price you paid for being selfish was really worth it!!!

Here's my view from the deck
The wine i bought at the China border. It cost almost three times the price of the room and was probably the single worst wine i have ever tried. Think fermented Kool-aid and you will get the idea

Lumpy, dirty bed
What do you expect for $6 a night
Well maybe a few less rats. There were so many, they actually kept me awake an extra five minutes

The aforementioned pictures were from Nong Khiaw and my boat ride and over night stay in the village of Muang Ngoi
I was told the only way to the village was by boat, but i found out later, there was a small road there.
Bummer. I would have like to ride in. But the boat trip was cool until the starter motor went out on the boat and we just floated down the river until someone boated in a replacement.

This is something a woman can't do.
They are not allowed to touch the monks
And since they dont have sex, i can understand. The temptation might be too much for them

I stopped in a little village to find some food
It didnt take long to have a small groyp of on lookers around me.
I let the kids take turns sitting on my motorcyxle.
They were shy at first, but after a couple had tried it, they all had their turn
