It was not to diffferent than a ride at Disneyland

Dunno who told you that was a floating village? That's just an area with houses built up for the wet season, when Tonle Sap expands massively from 2,700 sq km, to 16,000 sq km in the wet.

Those pole houses are abundant... in areas away from your tourist trap.... Like these - in the flooded forest

Not touristy at all... although you can get a meal and a beer

There's stacks of floating villages on Tonle Sap... and they are well worth getting out to.

If you get back over towards Siem Reap, give me a yell and I'll set you up with some locals to show you what its really like away from the tourist tours. Its well worth doing.

And for the record, i have worn my Rev'it Apache boots almost everyday for the past two years. I have used them for hiking and rock climbing and even an occasion dinner out on the town. They are definitely not new looking any more, but it is a small wonder they are still working at all
I need to remember this picture next time i climb aboard the Flying Dutchman I or Ii with my flip flops on......yuck!!!!

A pic of a foot w/ no skin

Nah - its a "de-gloving" accident... from a forklift, not a motorbike.

I am a Paramedic and rider, and have seen degloving injuries similar to this from M/C accidents as well. Have yet to see anything like this from riders wearing the proper gear though. Doing what I do for a living, I never ride without all the gear on, not even to the store 5 minutes away. Trust me, accidents can happen in a heartbeat, and the people I have treated never thought they would be in the ICU that day.

Chilean red

Hey I'm learning how to drive a scooter with a clutch today. I found a reasonable Chilean last night so I'll stop by your lodge this evening and see if its up to scratch.

I hope this finds you doing great Lalo!

It only took me the last 7 days to catch up from page 1..... like others have said this is EPIC. What a ride you have taken us on!
Deep into Burma? Are you shitting me? Big Brass Balls Lalo!!!

Usually I am not a big lyrics kind of guy but a couple years ago I was going through some crap and this song struck a cord as I was driving. Weird as if it was talking to me personally. If you ever doubt for a second that what you are doing might not be worth it..... let it go and let it go quickly!

I will not post and screw up your unbelievable story for us to enjoy, thanks for taking us on the ride......

Lyrics from Nickleback:

"If Today Was Your Last Day"

My best friend gave me the best advice
He said each day's a gift and not a given right
Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind
And try to take the path less traveled by
That first step you take is the longest stride

If today was your last day
And tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
If today was your last day

Against the grain should be a way of life
What's worth the prize is always worth the fight
Every second counts 'cause there's no second try
So live like you'll never live it twice
Don't take the free ride in your own life

If today was your last day
And tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past
Donate every dime you have?
Would you call old friends you never see?
Reminisce old memories
Would you forgive your enemies?
Would you find that one you're dreamin' of?
Swear up and down to God above
That you finally fall in love
If today was your last day

If today was your last day
Would you make your mark by mending a broken heart?
You know it's never too late to shoot for the stars
Regardless of who you are
So do whatever it takes
'Cause you can't rewind a moment in this life
Let nothin' stand in your way
Cause the hands of time are never on your side

If today was your last day
And tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?

Godspeed Lalo!

Banned?

Why does it say Lalo is banned? I hope that's not right.
