Cool story bro

Loving the RR. Finally found and caught up to one of these world trips before they where finished. I'll be checking in often. Ride on brother!

You might have mentioned this but do you have a plan for Darian Gap? Personally I like the sail boat idea. Hopefully with favorable winds to use the sails. Just seems like a fun time.

Here is a ship a lot of inmates have sailed on to cross the gap. Need to plan ahead a bit though.

Very Cool
Thanks for the complement
It gets lonely out here on the road so it is nice to hear that someone out there is listening

Petrolia is a cool little town
Wouldn't want to live there though
But a friend of mine that knows I like to explore mentioned that I should check it out
Glad I did
Thanks for saying hi
Ed

Yep, it's my dream ride too
I just hope my dream doesn't turn in to a nightmare
Riding thru Mexico City was kind of a night mare. I just need to remember to stay away from the big cities
The good stuff is yet to come
So check back and say hi......eh

Good timing because I am just getting started
Not sure yet what to do in Panama
I heard about the sailboat thing and that would be top on my list
But it is hard to plan anything
I am just (almost) totally winging it.
Somebody tells me about something and then I change course
A friend told me to check out the Pyrimids near Mexico City so I looked at my maps and squeezed it in today.
I am still a month away from Panama so we'll see when the time draws near
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated
Ed

Left Paradise and getting back to Adventure

I finally pulled myself away from the fancy digs in Puerto Angel.
It was time to explore and see new things
I heading away from the coast and took the mountain route to Oaxaca.
It was less than 150 miles and it took about 6 hours.
The first part the road climbed from sea level to over 8000 feet in the pine forests
It was 90+ degrees at the bottom and 60 at the top. The cool air felt good for a change.
I hardly got out of 3 gear most of the way. And when I got close to the big town of Oaxaca, there was lots of traffic and speed bumps to slow me down. But I got there in time to visit the Ruins of Monte Alban.

I was impressed by the size of the structures and the fact that almost no one was there
I had the place pretty much to myself

I am driving in to Oaxaca in rush hour traffic on a Friday afternoon.
My GPS doesn't tell me how to get there
My map says it is west of the City and that is about all I have to go on.
Fortunately, I made a few correct turns and got on the road that gets you there.
It was sure luck
